Good job, Becky.
I had a shock this morning , I was UP a pound and a half ! I don't know how that could happen. I didn't increase my calories, I am eating more carbs because of this no fruit, no dairy diet my doctor has me on.
Speaking of Doctors, I had to take a 'speciman" in to the lab yesterday, when I went in the clerk said the doctor had ordered more blood work. I questioned this as I just had blood work last Thursday she assured me she would check and see if it was correct , she said yes so I had the blood work done at a cost of $25.00. Today I got an email from my HMO that my lab report was ready, I checked on rhe computer, sure there was a lab report for the wrong doctor ! The unneccessary one I had yesterday was for my oncologist . that is a standing order for him but it has NOTHING to do with the nasty little speciman I carried in requested by a different doctor. As I remember she didn't verify the doctor's name with me as other clerks always do. What a way to start the day, a wasted $25, a nasty bruise, and a weight gain. Sheesh !

bargoo, sorry you had medical aggravations and the blip. If stress causes weight gain ... maybe that's your answer for today? It's always the same message: Keep moving ahead. You know you're doing all the right things. Eventually, the "random number generator" will come around.
Plan executed again. My legs are still a little sore from Tuesday; I figured it would be good to stretch things out on the treadmill. I still did the 2.2/3.8 - the only difference is that I walked the fast interval instead of trying to jog it. 65 minutes of deliberate exercise so far this month! Yes, I know most of you are doing at least that every day! Re bloodwork numbers - my inactivity over the past year has added 80 points to my total cholesterol, and a rockin' 90 to my LDL. For the first time, I actually failed the ratio. Nothing to be said ... just lots to do.

Doctors! DH had been on cholesterol lowering drugs for a year. He went back to the doctor who said everything looks good--didn't say to continue the meds. Another year goes by and the cholesterol was up. He asked to have the prescription called in. They said "you mean you haven't been taking them?" When they say everything looks good, you'd think you were home free on the drugs, right? Everyone needs to be specific and don't take assume anything without asking and verifying!
Another OP day for me, still can't wrap my head around the exercise thing. Weight steady at 155.5 for 3 days now, hoping for a woos (well, I hoped for it for today but nothing). Someone on my Nutrisystem board called it SSS--stuck scale syndrome.

allison, I am attempting to deal with the exercise by sneaking up into it so slowly and carefully that my mind doesn't realize what I'm doing. So far, so good. I can't believe how much a difference that having good tunes makes. I bought an iPod Touch in 2009 when I went under 150 - it was my "goal purchase". Thinking now, that I will go for a Nano when I see 144.5. The Nano has all sorts of cool accessories - even waterproof cases for use while swimming (!), and has an integrated pedometer.

Aww--integrated pedometer! Obviously my (really old) Nano doesn't have that.
And yeah, I'm blonde. LOL!

Becky, you need to go back to swimming since you always seemed to love it so much! It's way better to do exercise you actually enjoy.
Bargoo, sorry about the medical mix-up.
My weight is still up from last weekend's indulgences but not horribly. I need to buckle down and lose about 4lbs to be where I want to be. 4lbs isn't that much. I can do that.
In other news I also had labs done yesterday -- carrier screenings for genetic problems. I went to my ob/gyn a couple days ago for my annual exam and talked about going off of bc and trying to get pregnant this year. Assuming my chronic pain problem is actually lupus (which we still don't know for sure), she said it's totally safe to get pregnant and that it might get better, stay the same, or get worse during pregnancy. And that it's okay for me to keep taking tylenol for pain management.
Then she brought up that since DH and I are Jewish they recommend these carrier screenings before pregnancy for stuff like cystic fibrosis and Tay Sachs. But apparently there are few enough Jewish people in Indiana that she didn't know if they had the right test tubes to draw my blood in the office for it. So then I sat there for half an hour while they rummaged around in the back figuring out what tests I needed and whether they could do them or not. Eventually they just came back with a lab order and sent me to a hospital lab.
So yesterday I go to the hospital lab and give them my paperwork, then after 15 mins the woman comes back out and says sorry for the delay, but they're trying to make sure they have the right test tubes and such for all the tests. Another 20 minutes later they finally have everything ready and luckily the woman got a good vein and was able to get all six vials of blood from me.
But I have to say, I was surprised that they had so much trouble figuring out the tests. I mean, I know there aren't THAT many Jews in Indy, but there are certainly a bunch, most of whom live in my area (near this hospital). And these tests are recommended for screening by the American College of Ob/gyns so it's not like they're non-standard.
It makes me skeptical of the ability of local doctors to handle any problems that might occur that would be Jewish-related genetic conditions. Meanwhile DH, as expected, is now freaked out that our potential child might have one of the other thousands of diseases that are rare enough that they don't do routine screening and is wondering if I should get screened for every possible problem.

Hi guys - I've been reading, but not posting much. I've felt pretty out of control, on that 'right on the edge of a cliff' place. I feel like if one more thing happens I'm going to explode.
The payroll switchover in my company has had some complications, and they are making me crazy.
DSS has been inconsistent with his behavior - last Tuesday they told us that if he continued to have tantrums and get physical in class that he would get sent home. At that point he had pitched a fit every day for seven days of class. That started right after DH & XW went in to set up his official "Tier 3" discipline plan. He pulled up after Wed last week and was mostly good until yesterday. Yesterday he pitched a fit, grabbed his teacher and got sent home on suspension for the day. So now we have an official suspension record in his file. They sent the official papers with the state codes, the formal letter on letterhead, the whole deal. He has a therapy appointment and an ADHD screening with his primary care doctor next week, if we can just keep him in school that long. I booked his birthday party this week, I'm anxious about that, too. It is another joint with XW party - we'll see how it goes. Everyone is tense right now, so things can flare in a minute.
My weight is pretty good - I'm actually at my lowest weight in three months. I'm afraid that I'm about to lose control of my control, though.
 everyone!

Jessica, if Indiana wasn't so far from California I might wonder if we are working with the same lab.

Day Four, food in control. I'm over by about 200 for the day, but under for the week by over 500. I tend to overestimate when I can't find precise counts - how the heck would I score a homemade beef pasty? Take worst-case scenario, and then eat only 2/3 of it. It'll all work out.
Shannon, hang in there! This too shall pass, and when it does, you'll want to enjoy it fully without having to dig out of a food hole.
Jessica, agreed, I will get wet again eventually. I am dealing with a grumpy shoulder and since I don't have much restraint in the water, I'm going to do some dry land work first. Good luck with all the testing! Always good to have data going into baby-making; I know several couples dealing with kids with CF. If you know ahead of time, it makes finding resources much easier.
TGTF!

I'm finally at a true 155. I weighed 155 Saturday morning, and recorded it as such, but that was two hours later than my normal weigh-in. Today, two hours earlier, I'm at 155. I should now start seeing a real drop.

Hang on Shannon!! Hope things get better!!
Jessica-- that is exciting that you might be planning a little one in your future.
When I was pregnant, they tested my dh for Tay Sachs (he isn't Jewish but I am). I think there was some reasoning about checking to see if he was potentially a carrier, but he wasn't. This was in Houston and they seemed pretty on top of it.

Shannon, your DSS is a real problem isn't he? You are so great in wanting to help him and do things for him such as his birthday party. I hope this can be resolved soon.
