Saef, I hope you will be pleasantly surprised at your visit to the furniture restorer.
It's snowing here too. It was supposed to start overnight and we were supposed to have a messy morning rush hour, but it just started about an hour ago instead. Here the typical snow is 1-2 inches which is no big deal. If they forecast 6 inches or more I typically would work from home.
I had something witty to say but now I can't remember it. Oh well!

This made me giggle anyway! Thanks, Jessica, it came at just the right time. The DB and I have been taking steps towards solving the problem of a very confined space, a hot water tank and insulation. Old houses certainly throw up challenges, as I think Bill can testify. Our problem is only partially solved but I've called it a day for now. We'll have more energy in the morning.
Wrap up warmly, all you people travelling.

I had a make-up thingee today. Wound up not being with my cousin's wife but she supervised. Interesting. I did not know just how many wrinkles I had around my eyes - probably not their intention to highlight that.
I did learn to use eyeshadow as liner, how to line my lips, what colour blush to use for my colouring, and everyone kept commenting on how long my eyelashes were. I also had eyebrows that looked fairly natural at the end (mine are all plucked thin and one day never grew back).
It was truly weird and I felt rather conspicuous taking the subway home. Live and learn. I did buy some stuff and will practice with it. Tomorrow morning I will attempt to put eyebrows on my face.

Dagmar, the more you play with the makeup in private in front of your mirror at home, like your own personal art project, the better. I think I've made the best discoveries that way, rather than with someone applying layer after layer, trying to sell me as much product as possible. Particularly not the devotees of the Mineral Makeup Cult. That stuff just does not work for me.

What make up brand was this ? About eyebrows, my DIL is losing her hair, she has no eyebrows at all. She had eyebrows tatooed on, they look very natural no one would ever suspect they are tatooed.
Her neice has no hair at all she has to wear a wig and she is just a young woman in her early 30's.

"face" training
bargoo I don't know if they sell these particular lines in America but the brow stuff is from a line called Benefit and the name of the actual compact containing the stuff is "BROWzings". Are your relatives suffering from alopecia?
And I did buy the mineral makeup saef with the "special (expensive) brush". Long story about my cousin's wife and the make-up session (she's been wanting to "transform" me for years) and she still didn't do the actual make-up or get the commissions for the stuff they sold me. At least I helped someone make some money (my beauty person had only done one other application that day) and I had a bit of fun and pampering. Nothing like 2 people gushing over how attractive you are.
Personally I prefer myself with minimal makeup - enchance what I've got rather than painting over everything with at least 2 coats. And I only wear makeup in the winter on weekends. So I'm totally comfortable "barefaced". I have enough trouble with keeping sunscreen on as the dogs all like to lick and nose me in the car. Face, hair - I get a thorough grooming, particularly from young Bella. She tends to lean over and "kiss" me whenever the car stops. She's quite gentle (in this only) and I find it kinda sweet.
I am going back to my $10 liquid makeup as soon as I use up this stuff - probably around 2018 or so. And the rest of my "face" will be bought next weekend at my price point.
I have to wake DH at 7 a.m. today - . Better go stretch now
Dagmar (insert clown smilie here)

Dagmar, I haven't heard of that makeup line. I am going to google it and see if it is carried here. I did in the past have a moonlighting job with BeautiControl giving makeup parties.I have not had success with mineral makeup, on me it just looks like powder, not a look I like on me. I use cream makeup.

Dagmar, I just googled Benefit and we do have it here, I found the same brow makeup you describe, I would be interested in that. You can order online.
Yes, Sandy does have alopecia (sp ?) I wonder if it runs in families, my DIL is not completely bald as her cousin is but she is losing her hair, what she loses , as we all do, does not grow back.

The brow kit comes with two applicators - one for each component in it, tweezers (?), and a little instruction lesson. I did a pretty good job for my first "solo" attempt. What I drew and powdered really does complement my eyebrows and make them look fuller.
Darn expensive though - they don't put any prices on things in the "Beauty Advisor" area so I got quite the sticker shock at the cash. But it will last for a couple of years.

Online Browzings are $30.., I believe, I don't know how much that is in Canadian Dollars. You can also get it at Sephora, also $30.00.
