Saturday, July 30:

Scurrying back to the gym, full of relief. Ahhhhh .....

60 minute spin class
60 minute Pilates class

The Saturday morning classes were packed. Was it the weather, since it is cooler than last week's 99 degree Friday? What makes people decide, en masse, that they are staying home on a particular weekend? Or the reverse -- when everyone seems to be out of town for a long weekend, why does it seem like a crowd decision? Do they send out signals to one another through the air, like Wi-Fi? Whatever the reason, this seems to be a weekend when people stayed in town & went to the gym.

Some gardening and another run with DB/Coach. We were out for about two and a half hours. I'd say about 20 mins was run/walk. The rest was ambling along doing stretches and body weight exercises when he decided to play in another part of the stream. It's a good system so far and I'll take it as far as it goes.

What a lovely way to combine exercise, spending time with your child, and relaxation. I would do this any day over the gym.

I am giving DH a break today and only making him walk down by the lake. He will get a cup of tea or cold drink, whichever he prefers, as a reward about half way through. It's going to be close to 35 C again today and he melts in the heat. Though he loathes getting up early he's been doing it for 2 days now and going along with the program.

Sunday, July 31:

10 minute warmup on Stairmaster, aerobic setting, resistance at nine
60 minutes arm & shoulders routine
45 minute spin class

I am sleepy today & after doing my cooking, may take a nap in a wicker chair on my patio this afternoon.

July 30: walked with dh for 90 plus minutes.

July 31: 90 minutes Bikram Yoga.

I was so stoked because the yoga class was extra hot today and many people left. My favorite instructor was teaching and I was not about to leave. After class I thanked her on the way out and she told me twice how well I did in class today. I felt like the teacher's pet!

Saef-- I'm proud of you for scheduling a rest day. Truly.
