60 minutes of weights
45 minute spin class tonight, with only one empty bike in spite of the horrendous ice storm. Lots of people canceled because of the weather, but a lot of the members of my gym live within walking distance, so this is not so much of a problem: Pull on your boots, keep your head down, start walking, and in a few blocks, you're there.
Last month I gained two pounds instead of losing seven. Refocusing my determination to lose a few pounds this month. Also taking a quick family visit trip to California in a couple of weeks.
I actually have no memory of starting this thread, Michele, which is weird, because apparently I did.
But I get online pretty early in the morning, sometimes while still having my coffee.
No chance for the 6 a.m. spin class, after the overnight ice storm. This is pretty much what I figured would happen, so thankfully I've got a bike reserved for 7:30 PM tonight. I hope we'll have returned to some semblance of normality by then.
Feb 1 - Weights - 60mins
Feb 2 (morning) - Running - 25mins
Guess what my trainer did last night? He set himself on an incline and had us 'leg press' him by placing our feet on his chest! Now this man weighs at least 220lbs and he made me do 30 reps!
Maybe I will do some Zumba this evening, maybe not. I am concerned about my shrinking breasts and part of me wants to restrict my exercise because of it but I know I have to push on.....
45min Zumba Class - This was my 5th week of trying this new class and I'm really disappointed that it just doesn't seem to be for me. I don't feel like I get a good enough workout from it as I hardly sweat and my heart rate doesn't get up much. And the instructor is always encouraging people to be exhibitionists which is really NOT me. I can't shimmy to save my life and in today's class I actually felt really uncomfortable when there was a bit of an improvised section. I think I'm going to have to have a rethink and decide if there's something else I could do on a Wed instead. Am even considering not going to the gym on a Wed and doing a workout dvd at home instead.
45 minute spin class, in which (TMI warning ... TMI coming ....) I think I peed myself a little during the jumps
45 minute Pilates routine on my own afterward, in the empty studio
Gym sparsely populated tonight, because of the ice storm. Again, though, many of us walk there from nearby apartment buildings, so we made it anyway & were thankful to leave behind our own four walls. And spin class was nearly full, with some people driving in or taking the train in.
Our spin instructor played songs with heat, sun & summer in them. She has these thematic tendencies. I have to look up "Some Like It Hot." Robert Palmer sings lead, but I think it is not from his solo career; I think it's from some short-lived supergroup of which he was part. Anyway, I want it on my iPod.
40 minutes of various cardio machines this morning (rowing and 2 different kinds of ellipticals). Haven't done any weights since Saturday (and it is Thursday), which is really bad. I am committing to weights both tomorrow AM and Sunday, to get back to my 3x/week weight training routine.
Going to Disneyland tomorrow until Sunday so I probably won't get exercise except for walking. I'm going to wear my pedometer and try to get tons of walking in as the weather forecast is wonderful.
