Default Maintainers Chat: Week Of August 3 - 9

Good morning! How was the weekend? It was a quiet one for us and I got some cooking done for the week. Salad dressing, chili, brown rice and I made a batch of Fiber One muffins with some dried cherries and cinnamon. Great portable food!

DH and I rented the movie Doubt and all I can say is that Meryl Streep is my hero for allowing herself to be filmed looking just like a witch. They definitely aged her and even rimmed her eyes in red for the part. Interesting movie -- my takeaway reaction was 1. I'm glad I never went to Catholic school and 2. it wouldn't be a lot of fun to be a nun, at least in 1964.

Not much out of the ordinary happening this week except I have the first anniversary check of my new knees on Wednesday. We have to discuss how to deal with scar tissue in one of the knee replacements. My doctor asked me to wait six months to see what happened but it's gotten worse. Other than that, they couldn't be better!

How was everyone's weekend? Anything going on this week?

Hello Meg.

Not much to report regarding the past week-end, I basically spent time with friends (okay, we made pancakes... but those were MY pancakes, with spelt flour, fructose and skim milk ) and went to town to buy a few books and enjoy the sun. And of course I also went to my bodycombat class, and tried the bodystep one, which is fun as well. I'm yet to resume lifting, because I admit that with all those classes I just feel too tired in the end, but I'm sure that once I've found my rythm regarding those, I'll be able to fit other kinds of exercise in it. Well, I hope.

Eek.

I've juste realized: it's lunch time here and I've forgotten my box of vegetables in the fridge this morning.

Now I feel sad. Had I noticed it sooner, I'd have been able to go buy some, but now it's too late. Well at least I have an apple left, but it's not really the same.

...Yeah, crying over vegetables. Who'd have thought that a few years ago!

Good morning. I was going to go out for a short run this morning, but it's just too hot and humid! 71° and 97% humidity at 7am! So here I sit instead, waiting for the kids to get up so we can all go to the gym. They go back to school next week!

Hello everyone! I'm back I am done nursing (could only do it for 2 months and didn't want to mess with my supply) and start back on WW today! I have 34 to lose to get to my pre-preg weight and then another 11 to my "comfy" weight of 155. So not a maintainer anymore but thought I would drop in.

And this made it worth it!

Modkitten, your baby is absolutely adorable!! Congratulations!

But you absolutely still are a maintainer and we hope you stick around. You'll be back to your comfy weight before you know it.

Kery, I'm cracking up about your vegetable sorrow. Yeah, who would have thunk it??

Mod, what a cute baby! Congratulations!

Meg, has it already been a year since your knee replacements? Time flies! I hope they can work something out with the scar tissue.

Kery, LOL about the veggies.

Ward, did you make it to the gym yet?

I'm off to the doctor pretty soon for a six-month thyroid test. Hopefully everything will be fine and I won't need any medication adjustments -- I've been feeling fine, anyway. I'm a little afraid they're going to weigh me and I weigh more than last time (not by much, but still). Hopefully their magic body composition calculator scale will show a lower BF%. I know my muscles are much bigger now than six months ago.

aww thanks everyone! I just hope to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight (165) by sometime next spring. That is way more than enough time! I want to get down to 150-155 but I would be happy at 165 again if it doesn't work after that.

Good morning everyone. I'm a little out of sorts this morning - had an emotionally unpleasant day yesterday so didn't sleep well, which then led to me sleeping in instead of exercising this morning, which now is making me beat myself up over it and extending the unpleasantness from yesterday into today. I have to shake it off, exercise when I get home, start tomorrow fresh. And have to eat well today - splurged some this weekend, for which I wasn't upset at myself at all, until this morning's failure to exercise... Blah.

Meg - one year with the new knees, wow!

Kery - sorry about your veggies! I would be sad, too!

Ward - Yesterday was sticky, I'm not surprised that it still was this morning. Yuck. Hope you make it to the gym!

Modkitten - beautiful baby!

Jessica - Lower bodyfat percentage would be good! I need to find somewhere to get mine tested - I'm reasonably curious about it and my doctor doesn't do it.

Good day everyone!

What a cutie, modkittn! I second Meg's statement that you're still a maintainer. Besides, we want to see more photos of your baby.

I spent saturday at the beach, feeling pretty good in my bikini... then came home only to realize that my belly had gotten a nice little sunburn! ouch! I guess my skin there is just more sensitive - I put plenty of sunscreen on it just like everywhere else, but that's where I got burnt!

awww, modkitten, what a cute baby! =)

Ward, I have to make it to the gym this afternoon - I like running outside, but it's really humid here as well. The afternoon at the pool sounds great though!

Kery, I also get bummed when I have healthy food all packed and then forget it!

Shannon, I slept in this morning too but I'm going to get a workout in later in the day - hopefully you can too, I'm sure it'll help you feel better!
