OMG--Yes, I'll organize myself accordingly!!! Can you imagine, though--you're to be there 3 hours before the race. It's hot so you have to drink water to keep from passing out. What are you really supposed to do? And I wonder, with the crowds, how difficult it will be to find dinner afterwards. See why I'm not such a fan of crowds? Reminds me somewhat of the 4th of July in DC--we stood in line for over an hour to get some measly hot dogs. They just weren't set up for enough food vendors.

There comes a time when we all need to stop saying "I wish" or "I will", and start saying "I am", so we can later say "I did".

Good morning! Well, afternoon by now I guess...
Allison - the race sounds like fun! I also find the 'organize yourself accordingly' line pretty funny.
Jessica - I'm considering a 'staycation' myself. We normally take a trip with my family in the fall so I had saved my vacation time, such that it is. Just found out last night that the trip isn't happening this year so I have some time to burn before the end of the year... DH has tons and tons of time, compared to his my available time is nothing, so we could take time off together and go somewhere, stay in, or could take solo time for stuff. He can roll his unused over, I can't...
I was on the science team in high school, my boyfriend at the time and I both were. We went various local competitions and placed high enough to the state competition pretty much every year. One year he & I assigned to an event called 'Write It, Do It' - the first person on the team was given an assembled Lego creation, notepaper and five minutes to write directions for the other person on how to put it together, then left the room. Person two was given a box with the pieces for the Lego creation and person A's directions. My boyfriend and I won at several tiers of the local level and came in second in the state competition. It was kind of cool - the team that won the state contest were brother and sister...
Tired tired tired today... DSS got up 6 or 7 times between 3:15-3:55, then again at 4:15 just when we had dozed back off. I ended up staying awake until after DH got up at 5, got in the shower and then got back out. Dozed off and on from 5:30-6:20ish, finally fell asleep again about then. Needless to say, there was no getting up at 6:45 when my alarm went off to exercise... Already told DH I'm exercising as soon as I get home, so make sure he has a snack to hold him over until dinner! This is my third week so far of six days on/one day off, so I have to get today and tomorrow in to put me on track for next week. Maybe next week I'll get fully back into the get up in the morning groove!
Good day everyone!

Morning! Fun getting to work this morning - they're paving the road from my house to work! At least I got to and from the gym before they started. I live on kind of a peninsula between two rivers, so theire's just one main road into town so no avoiding the construction. I know they won't to get finished before school starts on the 17th.
Jessica - I like staycations, and they're even better when DH is away. I get to do all my projects, etc. I am taking the first two weeks of Sept off and going to visit my sister who lives outside of Boston. I'll also get to see DH's brother and wife, as well as their daugher/SIL, all of whom live in Maine. My sis and I have only a few loose plans, other than hanging out and seeing my niece and family.
Allison - I hope that you have a fantastic time in Italy. I'm so jealous!
Gosh, Shannon, sounds like your DSS needs some help with sleeping all night. I hate being woken up at night.
Today's LBWO was squats (including the infamous squat jump to a tuck), squats and then, um, more squats! Oh yah, one set of lunges for a change... My legs still feel wobbly.
Tomorrow, I think we're going to a little town called Hope, about 3 hours south of us. The Anchorage Square Dance club is holding a BBQ and dance there. We'll plan on "camping" in our truck and drive home on Sunday morning. A single friend of DH's may join us. He's been working out of Florida for the past few years, so we've only seen him a couple times a year, but now he's between jobs and here for a bit. It'll be good to see him.

ARE THERE ANY BATHROOMS INSIDE THE PIAZZA?
No, there are not; so organize yourselves accordingly
I love how this question is directly followed by:
Quote:
ARE THERE ANY DRINK VENDORS INSIDE THE PIAZZA?
In general, there are three stands that sell fresh drinks and snacks and are easy to locate.
If I'm in a place with no bathrooms for hours, believe me, I do not need to know where the drink vendors are! It sounds like it will be a lot of fun, though, Allison!
Shannon, it's really hard for me to run first thing in the morning too, even if I'm in decent running shape (to me being in good running shape is totally different than any other workout, since running doesn't come naturally to me!). I do elliptical and/or lift weights if I need to work out early in the day. I hope you get a good workout in this afternoon!
My office is always full of drama too. You all heard a lot of it when my old boss got promoted and the new boss was promoted from within, no one else "within" was happy about it, then she hired the replacement for her old position from the outside, etc. I do try just to keep my head down even when I have strong opinions about it - at least I try not to air them in the workplace! Oy vey.
Last night BF and I finally got to go out for my birthday dinner. I got to wear a new dress and put on makeup and all those fun girly things that normally don't go with my lifestyle. I had some delicious stuffed snapper and they had a really good grouper and fruit ceviche appetizer, and some yummy pinot grigio (Yes, now my mercury levels are sky-high so I'll have to avoid fish...for a day or two...). I took today off of work just for fun. BF and I went for a boat ride this morning and now I'm running some errands, going to the gym, etc. Tomorrow we're supposed to go scalloping and Sunday morning my book club leaves for our Savannah trip. We'll be back Monday night. There are 6 of us going and it should be a lot of fun!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Back to business
I've had a killer week (after a killer 4 day weekend at Beaststock) but I'm ready to get back to healthy eating and controlling my pop intake.
I know the diet pop has to stop but caffeine is my final vice. It keeps me going through the day but then it really messes up my evening and my sleep.
This is a cycle that's been going on for years. I've tried to quit cold turkey with no success. I find if I taper off that usually works. Until the next crisis hits.
Gotta get the willpower happening with this. I'm pretty sure that, if I can stop the caffeine crashes that make me binge eat for energy in the evening, I'll be able to maintain a healthy weight fairly easily.
I'm at the point with the caffeine that I've been at with various "bad" substances in my life. My body is saying (very loudly) "NO MORE" .
This is the final hurdle. I can do this .
My brain has to start listening . Today!
Have a great weekend all!
Dagmar

Well, this is it chickies! I've managed to get down to 150 before my trip. Now let's see what two weeks in Italy does to that! I'm hoping lots of walking and not too much snacking will keep me right here for my return.
Everyone have a great two weeks! I'll try to pop in from time to time--depending on wifi and extra time.
