Amanda - why not just write the fudgesicle into the plan? As you say, the calories are few, and right now you're just beating yourself up over changing a plan that truthfully doesn't really affect the overall calories of what you're eating to any significant degree.

Yesterday was a weird day, but was back on track today:
|
This was me too, Glory. Was doing fine right up to dinner. SIgh. And then at my meeting, one of the guys brought half of his birthday cake. At least it was angel food and I had no problem refusing the ice cream - it was strawberry which I don't like at all.
B - 2 eggs, ww toast w/apple jelly
S - ff latte
L - subway turkey breast, no cheese, lots of veggies
S - apple and/or cottage cheese
D - something grilled, veggies

It's a "bad habit" issue more than anything else. Invariably, I eat it right after lunch...almost like I feel like lunch needs dessert. I already have dessert at night after dinner, I don't need two a day!

Change your routine for lunch. What do you do when you're done eating? Can you get up and run an errand or otherwise distract yourself until fudgesicle craving time has passed?
I had a VERY similar situation. I was drinking a cup of cocoa every day right after lunch. It was only 50 calories, big whoop but I didnt like the idea I had to always have it. So, I started running an errand right after lunch. By the time I got back to my desk - I was past the urge.

Isn't angelfood cake just the best? It's amazing what a low "hit" it is for its deliciousness. Wednesday I had a meeting up in LA. I had to eat breakfast super early so I had a nectar bar snack around 9. I did really good at the business lunch, ordered a huge salad with the dressing on the side (it was a healthy salad - up to my standards). I had a miniature kitkat (caved) and I had a small non fat sugar free iced latte. I had 100 calories of dark chocolate with cherries. Dinner was okay (leftover stir fry over brown rice). After dinner, I was STILL hungry, so I had a cup of tea with honey and a single Wasa cracker with natural peanut butter glopped on. Not a TERRIBLE day, but more than I wanted to eat. I wonder if the miniature kitkat triggered the hungry hungry day?

I know. After that satisfying apple my mouth screams for something "better." Try brushing your teeth instead?

There comes a time when we all need to stop saying "I wish" or "I will", and start saying "I am", so we can later say "I did".

Yep, that's the focus currently. I need to switch my mentality to "60 calories, that isn't a big deal" to "No you may not". So that's what I'm doing.

Oh, I get that it's the habit you want to break..... I had a soft ice cream one day and now my mouth says - right after lunch - wouldn't a cone taste good right now. NO! You may not form that habit! Growing up we had dessert only after Sunday dinner - which usually involved my grandparents - as my stepdad had had a heart attack and basically had given up sweets (he should have given up cigarettes instead!). My mom always had fruit, usually citrus all cut up, if we wanted something sweet.

Hm. I eat salad almost every day for lunch... but I guess that's not the same, is it?
Must be the idea of "treat" food? One fudgesicle leads to another?

Gosh, is it something I said? Did everyone decide not to post their menus for the holiday weekend?

Hi Jay! I've been out playing instead of computing. I'm just erasing yesterday and moving on.
B - cottage cheese, spoonful of yogurt, 1/2 banana, ww toast w/pb
S - ?
L - turkey sandwich, 1/2 apple
D - either salmon patties (homemade) or leftover pork, curried cauliflower (obviously I made too much - this is 3rd time we're eating it), salad
