Default No Excuses! Maintainer's Food and Exercise Accountability 5/11-5/17

Hey folks! My weekend was OP despite a (still) raging sinus infection. I've spent a lot of time with my face on a heating pad. But hey, at least the scale is looking positive.

Planning for tomorrow.

B - Egg whites scrambled with veggies and leftover chicken, plus a whole wheat mini bagel (great breakfast find...I always want bread, but don't want a ton of calories...70 calorie mini whole wheat bagels fill that void perfectly!)
S - Frozen Grapes
L - Leftover roast chicken breast,
S - Greek yogurt and strawberries
D - Roasted Pork Tenderloin with chunky tomato sauce, served over polenta with a side of green beans and sugar snaps.
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar

E - 60 min cardio, 30 min yoga

Amanda, I really hope you get well soon! You've been sick a long time now!

I'm afraid I might be coming down with something. Yesterday I had a sore throat and a headache, and this morning I was really tired and still had a headache. I think it might just be allergies though because I had so many flowers in the house for the mother's day brunch.

Catching up on the weekend:

Saturday:
B - multigrain cheerios, skim milk
L - volumetrics chili
S - fruit salad, chicken (while madly preparing stuff for the brunch the next day), a couple sips of prosecco
S - 4-5 cheese squares, 2 crackers, handful of grapes (at symphony, I didn't have time for dinner before we left)
"D" - I put it in quotes because we ate at midnight after getting home -- pasta, sauce, parmesan
E - ran 5k in the morning

Sunday:
B - raisin bran, banana, skim milk
L - 2 scones, fruit salad, lf yogurt, lf granola, breakfast casserole, fruit gelee
D - thai chicken salad, 2 spinach pancakes
S - cup of hot tea with about 1 tsp half and half
E - just all the time I spent cleaning up before our brunch

Okay, and today's plan:
Monday:
B - raisin bran, strawberries, skim milk
S - banana
L - volumetrics stuffed pepper, thai chicken salad
S - tangelo, yogurt, fruit salad
D - pasta, mix of sauce, veggies, chicken, parmesan, roasted asparagus
E - bootcamp

So-so weekend. Food was fine, portions were, um, not so fine.

B - oatmeal w/skim milk, .5 oz walnuts, tbsp craisins; 1/2 pear; 1/2 ww eng muffin with whipped cream cheese
S - ff latte
L - salad with black beans, 1/4 avocado, topped with salsa, lf sour cream
S - apple, blueberry yogurt (not together!) ETA: ate the yogurt, skipped the apple and since when I added this up I was way under calorie wise, I had a child sized soft ice cream before my bike ride - in honor of the you know!
D - chicken stir fry, rice

Exercise: short bike ride. My butt was the limiting factor, but I'll never get it "in condition" if I don't start now!

Saturday

B – Trader Joe’s fat free Greek yogurt with honey, 6 oz blackberries

L – Big asian salad – greens, shredded carrot, grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, sliced water chestnuts, a few cashews, a few crunchy wontons, purple cabbage, Spicy Asian Peanut Vinaigrette

S – mango

S – 2 Wasa crackers, laughing cow cheese

D – went to our friends for a dinner party. I had…1.5 pieces of bread, 2 glasses of wine, some kind of festive sangria/orange punch, 1 piece of beef wellington (SO GOOD), small scoop of home made mashed potatoes with tons of garlic, salad (candied walnut, greens, shredded carrots, orange flavored cranberries, Trader Joes’ cranberry gorgonzola dressing). For dessert, I had one piece of home made chocolate cake with home made whipped cream and candied orange peel (I made the cake, brought the bread, wine and salad). Oh and a cappuccino with the cake.

I was very full.

Sunday

B – Trader Joe’s fat free Greek yogurt with honey, 6 oz blackberries

L – leftover salad from the dinner party (walnuts got kind of squishy, but still good). I added chicken.

S – orange

S – 2 Wasa crackers, laughing cow cheese

D – some weird chicken chile verde I got from Trader Joe’s. I thought it would be more chunks of chicken, but it was really liquidy. I ate it with some shredded low fat cheese, diced red onions, salsa, a little low fat sour cream, 3 whole wheat tortillas. Not a winner, won’t buy again.

Monday

B – Trader Joe’s fat free Greek yogurt with honey, 6 oz blackberries

L – saw Star Trek instead of going grocery shopping Sunday night (oops!) so got some soup from downstairs with a roll.

S – cup of red grapes

S – string cheese

D – lean turkey tacos, 3 white corn shells (60 calories each), romaine, salsa, low fat cheese, low fat sour cream, roma tomato

Monday was perfectly on plan - yay me!

Tuesday

B – Trader Joe’s fat free Greek yogurt with honey, 6 oz blackberries

L - big taco salad with leftover spicy lean turkey from Monday night's tacos. Romaine, grape tomatoes, salsa, a little roasted corn, red cabbage, tortilla strips for crunch, maybe a little low fat cheese (haven't decided)

S - tangelo

S - string cheese

D - BBQ chicken, roasted brussel sprouts, sweet potato

*edit* I had a cappucino from our fancy new coffee machine at work. I sweetened it with splenda - NO idea how many calories were in it (the package said it was made with skim milk, who knows?). I had a pretty low cal day, not going to sweat it. May have another one tomorrow!

It sounded fabulous - I am a huge huge huge polenta fan I think you and Rocking Robin should co-host a dinner party and invite me over. I'd bring wine!

Got in my run yesterday, 3.5 miles. I didn't go as far as I wanted - the wind picked up and was blowing flowers and pollen in my face and it got pretty chilly and overcast. Ended up not eating dinner at all...

Today:
E: changed to 10 minute ab video, 40 minutes elliptical HIIT
B: smoothie,
S: string cheese, apple
L: grilled chicken salad - hope to have time to eat before seminar so I don't give in to the snacks they provide
S: kashi go lean
S: yogurt
S: movie popcorn, 1/2 frozen rasberry drink
D: Mexican food - chips and salsa, seafood fajitas (shrimp, crab, pepper, onion, tomato, lettuce, pico, two corn tortillas, two bites rice, two bites beans)

E~30 minutes treadmill
B~4 pepperocini (15) (was in a hurry as I broke my coffee mug this morning and had to vacuum up the shards so the dogs wouldn't step on them or lick them up)
S~hard boiled egg (100)
L~Healthy Choice steamers (300) small apple (100)
S~yogurt (70)
D~leftovers: shrimp with orange chipotle sauce over a little ww pasta and sauteed zucchini on the side, Greek salad over Romaine. If that isn't enough for the two of us, we'll add half the stuffed baked potato. DS gets pizza.

See, this is something that would never, ever, ever cross my mind to eat in the morning!!

Yesterday was POP, at least calorie wise. A small soft ice cream was probably not a great choice nutritionally, but just right for the sunshine.

B - 2 eggs; 1/2 ww eng muff with whipped cream cheese
S - darn - just realized I forgot my yogurt Fortunately I have Luna bar in my desk
L - large salad with black beans, avocado, topped with lf sour cream, salsa
S - apple
D - ?? I have a city council meeting at 6. Probably Subway to avoid the pizza that's sure to be at the meeting.

I have a confirmed sinus infection, and an ear infection. It's not exactly good news (and the antibiotic my doc prescribed is the one that invariably makes me nauseous and grumpy) but at least now I have answers and treatment that'll make me feel better in short order. Which is good, because I am REALLY done with this head crud! On a more positive note, I freaking love my doc's office...9am appt, seeing the doc at 9:02, out the door at 9:07with my prescription wired to my pharmacy. They're almost as efficient as I am, and that is saying a lot.

Any 3FCer in the area is welcome for dinner at my house. I'll make the pork. Mmm.
