today:
turkey breast with mustard
same for lunch
cow cheese for snack
dinner of huge salad with baked tofu and many veggies
exercise:
weight and resistance training while watching dvr'ed shows.

This weekend: Sarah's dad and his partner were up. I made a concerted effort to make good choices. I did split dessert on Saturday (one piece of cake for two people, and it wasn't gigantic or anything), and ended up having a very scary reactive hypoglycemia episode in the middle of the night, which made me think that I need to be super careful with sugar (and prompted my doc to run all kinds of tests). Last night we went to a tapas place...food quantity was good, but they used SO much oil, so I ended up feeling kind of gross even after I ate only a little bit.
In other news, went to the doc this morning for tests to figure out why I'm gaining weight on 1500 cals a day with 8.5 hrs of exercise a week. He was baffled but is testing thyroid, insulin, etc etc. Had to fast, so my breakfast was a Luna bar at 11am...one does what one must.
B - Luna Bar, coffee
S - Watermelon
L - Salad w/ mixed greens, sm can tuna, a hard boiled egg, bell pepper, carrot, broccoli, a few croutons, balsamic, Orange
S - Shake - Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, unsweetened vanilla almond milk
S - Veggies and Hummus
D - Taco Salad - Pile of romaine, super lean ground beef cooked with onion and jalapeno, grilled zucchini and bell pepper, 1/4 cup black beans, sprinkle of reduced fat cheddar, crumbled baked corn tortilla, ff sour cream-based dressing.
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar
E - 60 on elliptical, maybe something else later.

Hi everyone,
Amanda, not that I want there to be something "wrong" with you, but I do hope talking with your doctor and tests can provide you with some answers as to why your body is acting strangely! Keep us posted.
I'm not going to make any excuses about my eating/drinking behavior for the past few weeks. Just trying to recommit.
Monday:
B - oatmeal w/ cinnamon, skim milk, coffee w 1 T. h&h
S - 8 oz. strawberries, 1/2 oz. raw pumpkin seeds
L - Quinoa Salad w/ Lime Ginger dressing & shrimp
Snacks - 1/2 oz. raw pumpkin seeds, cranberry relish (w/ oranges and walnuts), piece of homemade Chocolate Poppyseed Cake for my co-worker's birthday
gym - priority 1 - chest, priority 2 - cardio - walking/jogging
snack - 6 oz light yogurt, hm protein muffin in purse
book club meeting - This is the second meeting of my new book club and we read "Animal Vegetable Miracle" this month. Our host said she'd make recipes from the book, but wasn't clear to me if we are having dinner or just snacks, so I have an extra protein muffin to stash in my purse and some extra dinner at home in the fridge to eat if necessary...
Let's make this a good week everyone!

Megan - that's pretty much what the doctor said..."It isn't that I want you to be hypothyroid, but that would be an easily treatable, really simple way to connect all of your symptoms and fix this problem for you". I'm feeling the same way. I'd rather -know- that something is up, even if it takes some time to resolve, than just feel like I'm spinning my wheels and nothing works for no reason.
Thanks for the good wishes. I'll get results back in a few days.

Yesterday I once again raided my cabinets last night, ate a bunch of snacks and excess calories I wasn't hungry for, didn't need, and so on. I have a filling, healthy, nutritious meal plan for the week. Food is prepped. Working out with pretty good regularity. Not particularly sleep deprived. Work is slightly stressful, but I've stayed OP through worse than this. BF has been back in town so I don't have the "I'm lonely" card to play from last weekend. What is my deal???
Trying again today.
Tuesday:
B - oatmeal w/ cinnamon, skim milk, coffee w 1 T. h&h (I did ignore numerous donuts and bagels at the staff meeting - does that count for anything?)
S - 8 oz. strawberries
L - Quinoa Salad w/ Lime Ginger dressing & shrimp, broccolini
Snacks - 1 oz. raw almonds, cranberry relish (w/ oranges and walnuts)
gym - weights/strength - back, plus cardio
D - Clean Eating mag recipe sweet & sour stir-fry w/ pork
Rehearsal
NO SNACKING UNLESS GENUINELY HUNGRY. AND THEN ONLY A SNACK, NOT THE WHOLE DARN CABINET.
Strategies to employ: hot tea. brush & floss teeth. GO TO BED.

While I don't seem to be in a pantry-raiding moment like Megan, I do still have this problem with my eating. I think a lot of it has to do with portion size as I should probably go back to weighing and measuring. For instance, last night I made chicken enchiladas from Cooking Light. I ate two. I probably should have 1)made them smaller and 2) eaten only one. I probably tripled the amount of calories because of that mistake. And the worst part? I wasn't hungry for the second one. I ate it because it was on my plate (I served everyone two enchiladas). So, my weight didn't budge.
E~30 minutes treadmill 2.5 miles
B~blackberries and coffee
S~grapefruit and more blackberries
L~Smart Ones entree, sml apple, 1 cookie
S~yogurt
D~large salad with chicken on it

A good night's sleep and the migraine is gone, I feel about 10 zillion times better than yesterday. Which is good, because I have a lot to do today!

Amanda - hope your head feels better today!
Megan -
Allison - I make enchiladas also, and have had the same problem. I've started making them smaller, still eat two, but the two together equal the cals of one of the old recipe. I always felt like I had to eat two even when they were huge...
Last night I gave in again to the **** laffy taffy. It is kicking my butt, and now I find myself trying to hide it from DH... tonight is the night it gets packaged into a baggie... will actually be home to do it, have been back and forth to the hospital the last several days and haven't taken the time to empty the drawer...
Today:
Exercise - planning a run after work, hope for at least 4 miles, maybe five today. Feel a little stiff from yesterday's weights, but the good stiff, not the beat myself down stiff.
B: smoothie, coffee
S: trader joe's cashews, almonds & cranberries mix
L: grilled chicken salad, rachel's orange strawberry mango yogurt
S: kashi go lean
D: pasta with red sauce with ground white turkey
S: slim-a-bear - becoming quite addicted to my nightly ice creamy snack... though, just occured to me - didn't eat as much candy when night snack was peanut butter graham cracker... hm...

Doc called with test results, but wasn't here - have to wait until tomorrow (drat).
Replaced the planned protein shake in the afternoon with some dried fruit (1/3cup total of dried apricots and apple slices, plus 2-3 slices candied ginger). Calories were around the same.
Planning for tomorrow:
B - Protein shake w/ greek yogurt, almond milk, and frozen strawberries, orange
S - Asian pear w/ laughing cow
L - Leftovers - Beef stew w/ carrots, celery, zucchini, and potato
S - WW Tortilla w/ whipped cream cheese, greens, deli turkey, pickles
S - Muscle Milk Lite
D - White bean and chicken sausage soup with lots of veggies (carrot, celery, onion, zucchini, some spinach)
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar
E - 60 min Yoga Booty Ballet, 55 min elliptical or other cardio

I actually stayed OP yesterday... I'm just tucking that away and trying to stay OP today, taking it one day, one meal, one snack, at a time.
Amanda, keep us posted!
Shannon, step away from the taffy! Thanks for the hug.
Allison, it's hard to break that link between when we're in losing mode and eating everything we've served ourselves because we are starving from eating less, to go to eating intuitively and truly stop eating when we're no longer hungry (if that makes sense). That's something I struggle with too.
Wednesday's plan:
B - oatmeal w/ cinnamon, skim milk, coffee w 1 T. h&h
S - 8 oz. strawberries
L - Quinoa Salad w/ Lime Ginger dressing & shrimp, raw broccoli & cauliflower
Snacks - 1 oz. raw pumpkin seeds, cranberry relish (w/ oranges and walnuts), 6 oz. light yogurt
gym - weights/strength - legs, plus cardio
D - Clean Eating mag recipe sweet & sour stir-fry w/ pork
