Jay - by approx 100 cals a day added each week (so from 1400-1500 week 1, then 1500-1600 week two) for two weeks, mostly with healthy fat which I don't get a ton of normally (PB on an apple). Gained 2 lbs after 2 weeks (same lb a week I'm gaining now). I did the same thing 2 weeks after that ended, but upped by 150 cals each week (so from 1400-1550 week 1 and 1550-1700 week 2). Gained 3.5 lbs then (almost double the lb a week). That's why I aim to 1500-1600 now, instead of my usual 1400...because the gain was the same at that level, so why not?
I am always so glad when someone finds out that they can eat more than they thought to lose. After trial and error, I have to conclude that, at this moment, I am not one of those people.

We went for Mexican food instead of Longhorn, where I ordered a nice, healthy grilled mahi-mahi with grilled veggies dish. Then I proceeded to eat chips & salsa with cheese dip and 2 churros.... At least there weren't margaritas...
I did 75 mins of cardio yoga waiting for the Comcast tech, so that is an upside, too.

Would it be wrong to call the glass of wine I'm having tonight part of a calorie experiment, as opposed to "Having a glass of wine because I feel like it"? It fits with the calories so I'm one with it (and we just went tasting so we have all kinds of wine on standby, just waiting for us to enjoy a glass).
In other news, I've finally got my garden for this spring/summer mapped out, with the intention of building my raised beds this weekend and planting in the coming weeks/months. The plan is in Visio (I know, OCD) and I've decided to go with the Square Foot Gardening method, just because for beginning gardeners it seems to be really successful. I have a LOT of different crops going on, too, and the space-saving nature appeals to me. So hopefully I'll be getting all kinds of tasty fresh-picked produce going shortly! I DID burn an extra hundred calories or so today by weeding on my lunch break...good for the garden AND to cover the wine.

Sorry about the migraine, Kitty.
Oh, how I wish I could have a garden, Amanda. It just gets too hot here. I tried tomatoes one winter (plant in September) and managed to get one or two before the birds (or were they rats) ate the rest.
Jessica~enjoy the warm weather while you're here! It's rather cool this weekend, but much better than at home, right?
My dinner last night changed, but was still on plan.
E~30 minutes treadmill, 2.25 miles
B~Morning Star Farms southwest patty with salsa and cheese
S~none
L~out--probably Italian.
S~none
D~out--probably salad and soup

There comes a time when we all need to stop saying "I wish" or "I will", and start saying "I am", so we can later say "I did".

Manda, I've been giving your cal situation some thought. It's my assumption that at a higher calorie intake (if that is indeed the solution) perhaps your weight would go up before it went down? Uncomfortable in the moment. But in the end beneficial...? Hang in there.
My headache has gone down to headache level, down from off the charts throbbing migraine. I'm concerned that my stomach lining might be a little worse off after all the meds... worth it...
today
2 mile run
balance bar
3 pieces of fried chicken-- no skin but yes batter and real deep fry
1.5 piece special extra dark choc.
roasted broc.
turkey/soy chili (trying for super small portion)
coffee coffee green tea green tea lemon tea after 5p.

Oh, poor Kitty. I tend to take enough meds to kill the headache and then baby my stomach for a couple days myself. I can function with the stomach being touchy, but not with the headache.
I've been having a rotten time with food, or more appropriately, with my attitude. That little is winning the argument way too many times. I've had a stressful couple of weeks at work, which feeds into the problem, but in the end, it's something I need to rise above. And of the four deadlines I had today, 3 are done and one is moved to Monday, but I'm still aiming to finish it today so it doesn't hang over the weekend. On that note...
B - cheerios, skim milk, walnuts; 1/2 ww bagel
S - ff latte
L - chicken salad with field greens, roasted red peppers, grilled chicken
S - apple
D - pork chops in some fashion; butternut squash; peas
That's my plan - and I'm sticking to it!

Kitty - glad the head is more tolerable, hope your stomach doesn't go crazy next!
Amanda - sorry the wine experiment didn't work, that might be one you want to give a few days to see if it kicks in? (I love wine, so if I could say it was a calorie experiment and drink it every night for a week I'd be all over it! )
Pat - glad you are getting to the end of the deadline stress!
Jessica - logging on vacation, wow! Have a good trip!
Today:
Exercise - running on the way home no matter what!
B: Smoothie,
L: Southwest salad from McDonald's - used my lunchbreak for a Brazilian so ate takeout at my desk
S: yogurt
S: kashi go lean
D: turkey sausage over rice, either steamed veggies or a baked sweet potato. Probably veggies.
S: peanut butter graham cracker
DH has started using my food scale to measure out his snacks at night - I'm so proud!
