Next time, you might try calling the front desk to see if they can bring up a mini fridge. I'm not kidding. I've had very good luck with that at hotels in Chicago & San Diego. You know who clued me in on that? My mother. From her trips to the Indian casinos in the Northeast, she learned to call the front desk if the room lacked a fridge or mini bar that would fit anything other than its customary stock. Some of her companions on the trip needed the fridge for their medications. (Others just wanted 2-liter bottles of soda or chilled chardonnay in their rooms at night.) Me, I want it for my nonfat plain yogurt, the salads I make up from the salad bars at higher-end grocery stores & then carry home to the room at night, the home-made muffins (lacking preservatives) that I carry in my luggage with me, & other such perishable provisions.

(Resveratrol ... okay ... I have the spelling now. Thanks! I'm embarrassed. Usually I spell very well. What a wonderful word. It sounds like a motor oil or a rust prevention formula. Well, maybe it does prevent rust ... in a way.)

Heh, I looked it up to spell it, I'm a terrible speller!

Sunday

B - I ordered oatmeal with strawberries and a pot of tea from room service. 20.00. I would ask how hotel owners sleep at night, but I'm sure they sleep GREAT on mattresses stuffed with money! I did use some of the honey from the tea service for my tea

S - banana

L - left the room. I had a turkey wrap with a little pesto, sprouts, onions, tomato, lettuce and a small bowl of tomato soup. The wrap was the blandest, most boring sandwich EVER. I got about 3/4 done and said "why are you still eating this? it's not good" so I stopped. I was very very tempted by chocolate gelato, but I did not get any!

S - cliff nectar bar, chocolate craving got me.

S - 3 pieces of turkey jerky

S - orange

D - more buffet fun! I'll report back.

thanks zenor! Posting from my iphone, apologies in advance for typos!

Had a salad with romaine, tomatoes, avocado, a little dressing. No protein, so I got a piece of ham from the sliced ham station and chopped it up. I had a big scoop of roasted veggies and a cup of tortilla soup. No dessert!!

Glory - you're doing great!

The best salad I ever had had grapes, walnuts and blue cheese - to die for! Though the marinated steak salad with roasted red peppers I had today was pretty darn good.

I know you were there for a business trip so this tip would not have been very useful, but if anyone is ever in Vegas, I highly recommend taking a drive out to the Valley of Fire (especially early enough to see the sunrise or late enough to see the sunset). It's an area in the desert where there is red sand and rocks everywhere. It's spectacular and it's a good way to get a little hiking and exercise in the trip.
