Glad to hear the migraine died down and your maintenance muscle seems to be working well. As for the legal morass of Prop 8- I see both the Cali and US Supreme courts having to address this soon. You can't have 50 states with different laws on fundamental rights. Breathe and know the 3FC community loves you.

Tommy - thank you. I have faith that, in time, everything will end up just as it is supposed to, whatever that might mean.

In the meantime, I'm trying to toe a very tricky line between "no politics" and explaining, as we do in this thread, why my day yesterday was a strange one, food wise. How'd I do?

Thursday was basically on plan. Though I did hit the Raisin Bran Crunch box of cereal for about a servings worth. It was calling my name, loudly, and I chose to answer it. I switched out something else and all came in well calorie wise. I really wish my kids didn't "need" to eat cereal for breakfast. Better yet, I really wish I didn't feel the "need" and then see it through, to touching "their stuff".

On to today, Friday, and where I usually start to breakdown........... I was going to write how determined I am to get through this entire weekend POP, but I'm sick of doing that (sure you're all sick of HEARING it) and not seeing it through. So, I won't "say" anything about the upcoming weekend. But know that I am thinking it.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and a great weekend too.

Robin, if it helps you to write down your plan, even a little bit, we certainly don't mind reading it! I know just thinking through how I will deal with a food situation ahead of time can help me deal with it healthily (not always, but it can help).

Amanda, yeah, I think we're all trying to do the "no politics" yet support each other. I hope you're feeling a little better today.

Friday's plan:
B - western alt bagel w/ 1 T. lt. cream cheese, 1/2 Tbsp. red pepper jelly, 1 c. skim milk, coffee w/ 1 T. h&h
S - 1/2 oz. raw almonds
L - pouch of Starkist tuna creations herb & garlic, 1 c. carrots & 1 c. celery
S - "Waldorf salad" (ff plain yogurt, med. apple, stalk celery, sweet yellow pepper, carrots, a few raisins), small tangerine, 3/4 oz. part skim string cheese
workout - I'm stuck at home because my gym is moving locations (finally!) this weekend - my goal is to powerwalk/run at least 4 miles, possibly some shoulders with hand dumbbells
D - Haven't gotten that far, but I do have plenty of healthy options in my fridge & freezer. I do have a big artichoke to steam. Not sure if we're eating with other people - see below.

BF's sis & BIL are in town, as well as our deceased friend's family (funeral I went to last weekend), and there's a memorial for him for all of his friends here tomorrow afternoon/evening. I'm betting there will be lots of alcohol involved all the way around. I'm counting on and keeping some healthy snacks in my purse to keep myself in line.

Robin - you can do it. Just take it one meal at a time.

I am just about there eating on plan while DH is gone! He will be home around 11pm tonight. Of course, the weekend will be here and I owe him dinner for football picks, but at least I was good while he was gone.

Woke up really hungry, so today I increased my fat % to help me feel full.

B - 1 minute muffin made with pumpkin, cafe au lait

L - 2 oz chicken breast, potato mix that was in the cupboard

S - 2% latte

Dinner - Seawatch clam strips, broccoli, applesauce

Snack - Clementines and cheddar cheese.

Need to grocery shop, getting low on stuff!

You did great. Way better than I could have done in a similar situation. Isn't it great to finally have control over our food (not that it is a cake-walk)

Yesterday went way OP, and that's all I'm going to say. It's over, I'm moving on.

B - steel cut oats, 1% milk, walnuts, raisins, hi-fiber/low carb toast
L - was at a convention and visitor's bureau luncheon, but took 1/2 plate of salad, plus a few veggies (in butter), small chicken breast (scraped off the sauce), and few bites of cheesecake with raspberries (ate all of those, and dripped on my shirt )
S - one gingersnap
D - leftover chicken or salmon (there's enough left for 1 serving of each), brown rice, veg

Managed to stay on plan yesterday. As I have the whole week. But I've been struggling to do so. It's felt more difficult to do so then in the past and I'm none too fond of it. I don't feel like I'm back "in the groove" just yet. I feel llike I'm walking that tight rope. Whatever. On to today. What other choice is there?

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Yesterday evening was sort of weird, BF has had some better days dealing w/ his friends death but then last night was troubled and in some ways I feel taking it out on me, putting me in an off mood. I finished the night out a bit disappointed in myself because I did let myself get pressured into eating when I wasn't hungry. I was up for several hours in the middle of the night, and am glad I didn't go to the kitchen. However when I added up my cals it was only 1700 for the day.

Saturday's plan:
B - 1 c. All Bran Strawberry medley cereal, 1 c. skim milk, coffee w/ 1 T. h&h
S - lg. orange
L - 8 grain tortilla, 3 oz. lean deli ham, 1/2 artichoke w/ 1 T. light mayo dip, 1 serving Meg's recipe Pumpkin custard
S - 1/2 oz. raw walnuts, med. apple, 6 oz. lf yogurt
D - ?
exercise - ? power walk, run, or bike?
I'm in a weird mood and not inclined to exercise, but thankfully I'm not inclined to eat unhealthy food along with it.

Megan, I'm sorry your BF is going through some rough times trying to deal with his friends' death. I'm sure there are going to be ups and downs. Also sorry to hear that it's affecting how he's treating you. I certainly hope this passes quickly. Good job for not letting the strain get to you and hitting the kitchen in the middle of the night. As we all know (and forget SO often) that solves nothing. Nothing. Glad you remembered it.

This is gonna sound strange, but I'm not sure if I was POP yesterday or not . Well, all right I for sure wasn't PERFECTLY on plan, but I think I was still pretty MUCH OP.

Friends of ours wanted to go out last night for cake and coffee. I'm like, nu -uh, no can do. Soooo, I talked them into coming over to my house. I quickly scrambled and threw together a bunch of salads, put out a veggie platter with salsa and baked tortilla chips, pistachio nuts and opened up a bag of pretzels that I keep lying around. Well, I ate a LOT of veggies & salads. A LOT. Definitely more then I should have. The friends ate a lot of it too - and they really loved them! Well, yeah - they're pretty darn good! But I did also have a few pretzels and a couple of chips. Not terrible as I always leave some room for a few extra cals for the weekend.

We really had a good time just hanging out at my house, eating good healthy food (mostly) and we played some really fun board games. Much better then going out and sitting in a diner somewhere downing unnecessary calories.
