Yeah, I don't look forward to January at my gym. Even late November and all of December can be bad because the gym sponsors a Turkey Trot and gives away a free 2-week membership to everyone who runs/walks in the Turkey Trot (but it has to be taken within a week or two of the race). So those who take them up on it crowd the gym late November and early December...then comes the January resolutioners! And I thought it was bad when school started and all the football guys and soccer girls started hanging out after school!

There comes a time when we all need to stop saying "I wish" or "I will", and start saying "I am", so we can later say "I did".

Kinda glad my gym is in the basement of my house. Not so many hot ripped guys hanging out there though . I'd be so busy ogling that I'd never get through all my reps .
Just tossed the rest of the Halloween candy. The big kid will be very disappointed but he's got two glasses of wine as compensation.
And does anyone else stay super OP a couple of days before their annual physical? Mine is on Monday and I'm being very, very good all weekend to compensate for my body being composed of about 25 % little chocolate bars since Wed.
Annual physical is a bit of a misnomer too - it's been at least 6 years or more since I had a check up. If it ain't broke . . .

Daylight savings . . .
. . . is not my favourite thing. I slept late (for me that was 5:45 a.m.) only to find out that it was now 4:45 when I got up. those of you who can/do sleep in for the extra hour -
And it makes it even harder for me to maintain/diet as I tend to eat in the evening to stay awake. And you can imagine how much the "life of the party" I am after dinner in the winter months.
Anyone living in California or Arizona want to adopt/marry me ?
Dagmar

The same thing happened to me this morning, Dagmar! I woke up super early and then when I realized what time it REALLY is with the time change, well ... .
And I'm exactly like you that my willpower goes out the window when I'm tired. For some crazy reason, my body can't tell "tired" and "hungry" apart, so I end up eating when I really should be sleeping. Of course, it's much easier to grab a snack than a nap!
Maybe we both can take naps today!

Happy Daylight Savings Switching Day
Good morning people who wake up early - regardless of the saving of the daylight or not.
I should have been a baker; wouldn't have been a problem for me to get up every day at 3am to made the donuts.

Bill, I'd be up at 3 am to eat the donuts.

Dagmar - I am the same way, loving my gym at home. It's not fancy, but it's never crowded LOL!

Another early riser here who could be up to make the donuts - but I think it's a pretty darn good bet that baking would not be a good profession for me. For starters, I'd eat all the profits.

The reason I was over 200 pounds is because I DID eat the donuts!

Yup, I woke up early! I was up at 7:00 and unable to go back to bed, so I went on my porch to work out.
I also just felt like napping last night and went to sleep at 9 I guess it makes up for the fact that I partied until 4:30 AM on Halloween! I dressed up as the devil and the girlfriend was a dark fairy. I'll post pictures of it soon. I think I looked like I was about to walk into an S&M club!
I was not on plan on Halloween... AT ALL... but I don't even care because I know I've eaten on plan/been physically active enough to allow for a really gluttonous day every now and then I've decided I shouldn't beat myself up over it and instead just be happy that I had an awesome Halloween.
Oh man... foofy coffees.. I love 'em but rarely have 'em. They're SO fattening and SO high in sugar. There used to be this amazing one at Joe Muggs (Books A Million's coffee shop thing) - the S'Mores Frappé - that I believe they discontinued, as I went there for the first time in years a couple days ago and didn't see it. I went for the triple shot espresso instead I was sort of bummed, though - I would have GLADLY fallen off plan for that one.
Meg and Dagmar - I think it is common to gravitate towards getting a wicked case of the munchies late at night. Most likely, subconsciously, our bodies feel that the food will give us energy and help us stay awake longer... even though the wrong food (and usually what consists of midnight munchie material) will actually put us to sleep sometimes...
OH and Dagmar, I stay super on plan the week before any kind of physical AND before any doctor appointments. I also make sure I wear the lightest clothes I can get away with, so the scale won't tell me I'm fat. And if I'm getting any bloodwork done, I somehow think that being super on plan the week before will negate anything negative
Robin - @ eating all the profits
Jessica - *crosses fingers for your change of meds*

I'm IN! Lotsa good strong coffee too and then just take me directly to the ER
Meg I have a kid's birthday celebration this afternoon at 2 and then my cats and I have a "nap" date at 4:30 .
It's a pretty regular date in the winter and they really enjoy it 'cause the bedroom is off limits when "dad" (DH'll kill me if he ever sees this) is home. If they hear his key in the door they both jump off the bed and run for the living room .

I wish we were like Arizona and didn't change back and forth. We're very close to Arizona--about 2 hours from the border. I totally understand why they don't change. For instance, in a couple of weeks, it will be DARK at 4:30 PM. And the sun is coming up before 5:30 AM. That's just wrong. I'd rather stay on daylight savings time all the time.
Except it felt good to "sleep in" today. We got up at the usual 7 AM-ish for a Sunday morning. Yet it was only 6!

I'll tell you that in Alaska, daylight savings is a waste! We only do it because if we didn't we'd be 5 hours behind the east coast - which for folks like stock brokers and others who do business in rest of the country would be awful. It's also the reason that the whole state is on one time zone, when in the 70's (when we moved here) there were 4 time zones.
So it was -5 this morning, but now, at 1 pm, it's all the way up to 10 above. It's a clear bright sunny day though. Really pretty.
I have no news, no plans, except maybe to vacumn the house in a bit. All my other "chores" got done yesterday.
Dagmar - my cats are ready for a nap at any opportunity. In fact they sleep in the bed all the time - whether we're there or not.
