Midwife - I'm sure that the recipe would work with canned beets! That way you don't have to spend an hour boiling them too.

Dinner yesterday ended up being three slices of watermelon, a slice of beet bread with tub margarine and jam, and muesli with skim milk.

Friday's plan:
B - muesli, milk
S - two donut holes , yogurt
L - leftover veggie lasagna
S - hershey's mini , yogurt, popcorn
D - I have been so lazy lately that I doubt I'll get around to cooking tonight, especially after my run!
Exercise - 30 min wog with dog (c25k wk2d3), UBWO

Last night a friend was recalling being on the 56th floor of the world trade center. He said there was one loss in his firm. The person who did not get out on time was obese and kept coming out of the stairwell on to the main floors to rest. Of course, nobody knew at that time how important it was to move quickly
Kitty, this is so sad to me. It's hard enough living your life day to day being obese, but in an situation like this - the obese stand no chance. So frightening.

Quote:
I can't even imagine how scary for you and your kids. Similar thoughts have crossed my mind---could I run for my life? Could I chase down an attacker if he has my kids or defend myself and my children physically?
Midwife, yes 9/11 was a rare circumstance, but I used to think about the same things as you. I knew I stood zero chance at ever being able to run away from danger or being able to defend myself or my children from any kind of physical harm.

Hi, I just pop on here from time to time to get menu ideas.
bbut i saw your posts Robin and Kitty, and just had to respond. thank you for posting them. We forget sometimes, how important it is to stay fit. Not just for ourselves, but for our families too. I know, after reading this, I will have a POP day!
Yes, Freda, it IS a good reminder. That's why as painful as the memory is, I never, ever want to forget it. Hope your day was POP . And please, please pop in more often.

Friday was mostly POP for me. Too many B L T 's. Once again. Yes, they were healthy ones, but I ate waaaay too many veggies before they even got to the table. I MUST stop this.

Have a great weekend everyone.

yesterday was pop, today is pop so far (and will be for the remainder of the day!). Gym done for the day; doing housework now blah!

Have a good weekend!

Yay, just had my official weekly weigh in since last Saturday's disastrous 137 discovery - down 2 lbs to 135! I tried on the jeans and while they aren't the most comfortable jeans yet, they definitely fit better! 1.5 weeks until my trip

I'm so miserable with this cold. I've skipped the gym 4 days now (I don't usually go on Saturday unless I need to "make up" the time and I didn't even do that).

My eating has been pretty much OP, smaller portions due to not feeling so good, and the scale did reward me this morning. Still a long way to go, though.

So sad hearing about the train accident in LA.

Anyway, I need to go plan my weekly menu and get to the grocery store.

Allison, I'm off to the store too. When I'm sick I have the weirdest appetite....I can go from not being hungry at all to starving. I'm trying to eat anyway with no appetite....variable success there. Hang in there!

Congrats on the loss, Glory!

I'm so going to make that bread, Jessica. I can do canned beets.

I'm off to the grocery store with the cutest kindergartner ever (not that I like to brag).

Allison, I hope you are feeling better. Colds are the worst.

Glory, Congrats on getting those lbs off. The way you're nailin' your days, the rest of the little critters are sure to folllow - and shortly.

I had a great Saturday. I had a little brunch/open house party type thing happening. I had to just stop in at. Decided that was NOT when I wanted to consume any calories. I just had a couple of glasses of Diet Coke. It felt great. Then in the evening we were with friends. Of course we wound up at the Diner. I had a fruit cup and 2 of DH's french fries.

And today, just this morning, what a difference a day makes, my pants are now fitting me perfectly. Perfectly.

I've got a few new recipes. Will post them later in the recipe section.

Looking forward to another OP day.
