I wish I'd noted the exact date I got down to my current weight, but this November or December will be my eight-year "thinniversary". :carrot:

My maintenance milestones

* Around the four-year mark, I'd worn out some of my new, smaller clothes. That was huge for me! :carrot:

* After I lost weight, I kept reading online that only 3-5% of dieters who lose a substantial amount of weight keep it off after five years - glad I never read that before I started losing! As the five-year mark grew closer, I became a bit nervous, thinking I'd regain 90 pounds overnight. Of course, the milestone came and went with no weight gain, so I felt I was really a Qualified Maintainer. :carrot:

I think I'm addicted to the Dancing Carrot. :o

Congrats on those six months, mars735!

mars735 03-01-2014 05:46 PM

Thanks, BillBlue! I figure another 20 months or so and I'll feel like a real maintainer :)

Well, it's been 1 year since I started my weight loss plan, and I have been maintaining for 8 and a half months, but I've got to say it is much harder with major stress. I now have parents with serious health issues and I am the only child left (my brother died almost 2 years ago) so it has all fallen to me. It's difficult to try to help them and yet still treat them with respect & dignity. :( At least they live very close by so I am able to help out as much as I can without major travel.
Hey Mars! come back for a visit on the IP maintainers threads, we miss ya!

Thank-you, Siverbirch! Hope you are staying dry--I'm reading about some serious weather by you. Happy New Year!

silverbirch 01-02-2016 03:22 AM

Happy New Year to you, too! Thanks for your good wishes. The rain's been Biblical for nine weeks here but I'm OK. Thinking about getting waterproof overtrousers though. :)
