Default The LAWL Center book and frozen meals

Have any of you incorporated frozen meals to your plan and if so, what are your favorites? I've been shopping around and have found some new Lean Cuisine meals that are not on the list.....are they okay to buy or do we stick to the choices listed on the meal guide?

Right now, i'm loving the CEDARLANE EGGPLANT PARMASEAN!! (sp) yummy....

I eat frozen lean cuisine or WW meals almost every day for lunch. I find them essential to not getting bored with my choices. I make a killer salad from the cafeteria salad bar and I'm all set . . . .I don't bother to look at the approved "choices" in the meal planner-they are all pretty similar and I've had success on the plan so far . . .

I try to use the meals in the book as guidelines - they are so hopelessly out of date, but try to pick meals similar in nutritional value as those in the book. I don't do them very often.

I did have an Amy's Kitchen enchilada bowl this week and it was really good. To me, the frozen meals always seem to use too many green or red peppers - like that's the only thing that is going to add flavor.... blechhhh

I've been hearing that doing the frozen meals everyday is not a good thing because of all the sodium. Do you gals agree? I'm using them twice a week at the most.

They should update the meals in the book. I'm such a stickler for what's written in black and white. I'm beginning to think I have OCD being on this diet. Sticking to all the rules. I have to remember that they are giving us tools to use as a guideline. Haha!!!

I'll look at the nutritional values like you suggested hkychik. Thank you.

Have any of you tried the LC Panini Sandwiches? Another yummy meal!! Very filling for me.

the paninis are yummy! as for the sodium-i decided a little extra water weight was better than me eating something off-plan cuz I got bored with grilled chicken salads for lunch . . .I only WI once a week, or every 2 weeks-so I do the lemon water thing the day before a WI.

I'm not completely sold on the sodium thing-it's not like it keeps you from losing fat. But I am a lot more conscious about the sodium content of my foods and try to do the best I can.

How in the world are you able to drink that much water? That is 14.25 glasses of water--I am amazed. I thought I was drinking alot when I had 10 glasses a day!

Merem--for me it just became habit--I have a favorite 25oz. glass and I drink 2 before lunch, 2 before dinner, and one more between dinner and bedtime. I didn't drink it on the days we were in the car for 11 hours because of potty breaks and I had a killer headache.

Let's see. I guess i'm like Boo'sMom (Lea Ann) . It just became habit! I also have this 33 oz bottle that I drink from. I'll have 2 of those and then I have this jug that I got from 7-11 which is 52oz or so and I drink from that throughout the day. I love water and I'm a pisces!! haha!

I agree with you Julie Marie. My counselor was getting on my case about having LC too much. She said no more than once or twice a week. But the book says up to 5 times a week. I know that I need to watch the sodium...but like Julie Marie said...I'd rather go over on sodium than on fat and calories.

I get too hungry on frozen meals. They just don't compare to 8 oz of chicken, ya know? However, I do love getting to have stuff like pasta and potatoes. Hmmm, now I am wondering about buying a few.
