Default Hatchling Here - Just Wanted To Say, "Hi!"

Hi everyone!

My name is Michelle, and I live in Atlanta. I've been avidly reading the messages here for a while and wanted to let you all know that you're a very inspirational group! I love all the tips and stories about your experiences with LAWL!

I joined LAWL about five weeks ago. My starting weight was 262 (how did THAT happen?! ). Right now I'm at 247. My goal is 192. I know I have more than 70 pounds to lose, but I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to stick with LAWL, so I only signed up for a bit more than half of my final goal. If that works out, I can re-up and buy more weeks.

Signing up was an impulse. I don't watch much TV and had not seen any commercials for LAWL. I passed a fairly convenient shopping center one day and saw their sign. I was at a stop light so I jotted down their number and called them when I got back to work. I told them how much weight I wanted to lose; they told me the price, and I gave them my credit card number over the phone. I was that desperate! I had to go back later to sign the paperwork, get the blood pressure check, pick up the kit and Fast Start Juice, etc. Only after I got home, did I check the internet to see what other people were saying about LAWL. There seems to be a lot of negativity out there, mostly inspired by the initial "bulk sales" offer. Even having read about that, I must admit that three days later I still had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I was offered $1500 worth of bars. I said I wasn't interested, and that was that. They gave me a different plan with more exchanges, and never pressured me about anything.

The staff at my center have been very sweet and encouraging. They may not be trained nutritionists, but I get the feeling they are genuinely happy when the Weigh In is lower than the one before. At my center they have a little statue of James Brown. When you lose weight, you get James. The counseler hits a button and James starts singing, "I feeeeeel GOOD!" They do their best to make WI a positive event.

I've been going in after work three times a week. I guess going so late with more than half my food and water under my belt makes my weight a little heavier, but the loss has been consistant and that's the most important part. At first I thought weighing in three times a week was excessive, but now I think it's a great idea because the accountability has been keeping me honest. I don't want to cheat when I know I'm going to have to get weighed in the next day.

So, it has been five weeks, fifteen pounds and nine inches. James Brown is going to be the hardest working man in the diet industry!

Best wishes to all of you! May all our dreams come true!!

Welcome Cafe- Sounds like you are off to an awesome start. You are starting at about the same place I started. I was at 256.6 when I started. I have been on LAWL for 3 1/2 months and have lost 35 lbs. The James Brown thing is too cool. I love the counselors at my center. They are all the same ones that were there when I joined. I do the lites, but they don't push anything else.

Welcome--you are off to a GREAT start. I like my center (most of them LOL), too and that really helps.
