Fruits are the hardest for me to get in. They modified my plan so I wouldn't have so many fruits and increased my dairy and veggies.

I'm not a huge veggie eater, but I eat alot of broccoli, mushrooms, baby carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, and green peppers. I have only eat celery I think once in a year and a half.

Actually, now on maintenance I have 7 veggies a day to eat. I thought it was going to be impossible at first, but I have adjusted. I usually eat about 2 cups of cooked broccoli for lunch (4 veggies) and a salad with cucumbers for dinner (2 cups lettuce, 1/4 cucumber (3 veggies)).

Also, I will add mushrooms and/or green peppers to my beef or chicken with dinner. I add mushrooms and green peppers to the CarbCravers Pasta w/Light Sauce too.

I don't like V8, I have this strange relationship with tomatoes. I can eat them cooked in soup, pasta sauce, or ketchup; but that is it.

You can make Turkey Chili with tomatoes, onions, and green peppers and count them as your veggies.

Just try to add veggies to your protiens, it helps out alot.

Mary,

The soup and chili sound great! That's what I've been wondering when the cold weather hits, how to do that - can you post the exact amounts you use - do you use lean ground meat with the chili or beans or both or what?

Thanks!

MARY!

I will definitely make this when the weather turns cold again - it's summer again here!

I've used V-8 juice twice in one day lots of times, sometimes even 3x's a day. It hasn't hurt my weight loss and none of the counselors have told me not to do it. I also have trouble with my veggies. The center actually got me hooked on it because I couldn't find enough veggies to eat every day.

I was wondering if the regular V8 is bad for you on the LAWL diet? Is the low sodium one better? and what is too high of a sodium level?
Thanks

Housewife - they say that the regular V8 has way to much sodium in it. I think that low sodium needs to be like 170 whatever....total for the day 2400. Someone help me with the mg/mcg or whatever. LOL

I'm not a huge veggie eater-but I've found a few things that help-

I eat eggbeater omlettes several times a week and add mushrooms and peppers.
Those little bags of baby carrots are lifesavers!
pb and celery
