Hi to everyone! Hope the holidays have been treating you well. We had a wonderful Christmas marred only by a small family drama and a little girl with a very high fever xmas eve (actually technically it was xmas day!).

Kim-congrats Grandma!

Joan-have a great vacation!

Barbara-5 weeks will be cake! And an Alaskan crusie? So jealous . . . The avoidance of starches after a binge is a good idea-kinda of how my plan works. Sorta.

Speaking of my plan-I knew Christmas would be hard and vowed not to let either the diet or food rule the holiday. And it worked. I ate "normally"-meaning I didn't avoid the potatoes. I ate very little sweets-which wasn't too hard. (surprised me!) Had one lapse with a half-eaten bag of potato chips (craved salt). And now 2 weeks into my diet-I've lost 16 lbs. I'm sure I didn't lose anything from Christmas eve through Sunday (the last family celebration). I got right back on plan on Monday and still lost 3 lbs for the week. I'm thrilled.

Happy New Year everyone! Tomorrow is my birthday and having not found a cake recipe that will work I decided to forgo the cake. I don't care but not sure my kids will be impressed.

I managed to get the extra 2 Christmas lbs off through a TO and exercise. So now I have 13 lbs to go

I saw a fitting comment on Woman's Health Mag online..Take one bite , but only one bite, to a dieter is like telling a crack addict to just have 1 hit! So true!

Dreading all the new gym members that pop up in Jan. They usually only last 4-6 weeks but it is annoying having to wait for equipment those weeks. My time at gym is the time that most people can go so it is already too busy (right after school drop off).

Starting the 30 day Shred..today

Hi ladies

Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and finally that part is over...and we can all go back on plan

I lost just 1.8 lbs since Xmas...but I would say that any "loss" is good news.It is my TOM now...and I am planning to do a TO after that...hopefully that would set me back on track. But I moved my Jan goal to Valentine's day goal...no disappointments that way

Speaking of Valentine's day...we had a nice romantic wedding Anniversary on the 31st...most people think my DH is very clever to get married on New Year's EVE so that he never forgets our Anniversary....lol

I still got my birthday coming up on 8th Jan...ie this Friday...but that's no sweat...because it is my birthday and I am free to do what I want

See you all

Kim - congrats on your pending arrival...how exciting for everyone.

JM - wow!! great job on the weight loss...did you buy a book for the EODD or just use info off the web...I think I need to check this out! Hope Josie's doing better and keeping you on your toes.

I decided to join the Biggest Loser contest at my (Gold's) gym....$50 to enter and the contest runs from Jan 11 until April 5. The old (LAWL) timers know I do much better when I have a prize to aim for. This one is a cruise....wouldn't that me nice...so, I have another week to prepare myself and get in the groove...my goal for this coming week is to get back to my early morning spin classes...the following week I'll incorporate an eating plan that will hopefully give me results~ I would LOVE to lose 20 pounds during the 12 week contest!!

Happy New Year to all!

Default I'm starting LA tomorrow....

Hi Ladies. Not sure if anyone will remember me. It's Sy. I did great on LA a few years back, got side tracked and have gained all 40 lbs back. I'm starting tomorrow my weightloss journey tomorrow. I'm happy that I only need to lose 40 lbs, and believe it's do able with your support. There are no LA Weightloss centers in my area anymore or I'd be going back. I can purchase the LA Lites online if I want, or use some other bar in it's place. Does anyone have any recommendations for subsitudes? Anyone else doing it without a center close by?

I'm looking forward to meeting you all. I see a few pictures and some look familiar, but maybe the screen names have changed?

I'm going to have to see if I remember how to update my profile. I'm suprised that I remember my password. LOL!

Hey Sy!! I remember you! Most people use Luna bars these days, I think.
