Hi I'm new to this site and have a question for you Fat Smashers!

Okay so I just started my last week of Phase 2 of the Fat Smash Diet. I was thrilled with my success in Phase 1. I lost 9lbs in 9 days, but this second phase has not shown me much success. I've lost 2lbs in the last 2 weeks. And even though I know that Dr. Ian says in the book that we should really only expect to be losing 1-2 pounds per week, and even though I know that I should just be happy that I am continuing to lose weight, I can't help but feel disappointed.

I really am enjoying this diet and I'm having fun finding new and alternative recipes for meals that I love. I'm even enjoying the exercise (for the most part), but I'm worried that my disappointment will lead to me losing momentum with this weightloss plan.

So my question for you all is this: Once you finish Phase 1, is it normal to be losing weight at a MUCH slower rate? And is there something I could try to help boost the weightloss?

To be honest Ive never followed the diet to the T after phase one. I basically count my calories and although I just started I think that it will work for me, along with eating healthier in general. I personally like to use phase one to get me back on the roll and to control cravings when I feel myself falling down. Id encourage you to continue working out and eating right. Maybe yous should try working out more often how many hours each week are you working out?

Hey Matilda. Thanks for responding!
I've been pretty good with following the meal and exercise plan that is outlined in the book. 5 days a week I do at least 40 minutes of powerwalking (I'm not ready to run or jog yet) and I usually do 10 minutes of an exercise video as a little extra. Almost every night after dinner I do at least 20 minutes of low intensity exercise. I've tried to switch things up by cycling and hiking.

I don't count calories and I really don't know if I could stick to a plan that required me to. But I really am careful with portion size and how I prepare my meals. It's funny that you mentioned going back to phase 1 because I've been toying with the idea of going back to it once this phase ends. I guess I really just have to suck it up and stick it out and not obsess over that damn scale!

Losing weight is different for everyone. I had got down to 220 but gained almost all of it back. I am new to calorie counting and so far each day it gets easier. I use a website called mydailyplate.com Sometime in the process of losing its trial and error. GOod luck
