intuitive eating?

i just found this on the forum and spent the last hour reading about it, here and the official site. it seems really interesting! i'm very in tune to my senses and just the name of the "diet" appeals to me. however what i'm afraid of is the initial gain? i have to lose 10-15 lbs by october for our bi-annual fitness test and weigh-in

[edit] i'm active duty navy

Intuitive eating is great, but I don't recommend it if you have a certain amount to lose by a certain amount of time. What I've been doing, and it seems to be working for me, is combining a "diet" with the "no-diet" principles of intuitive eating. I like the South Beach diet (phase 2). I eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full, and I try to eat as healthy as possible. I have my occasional indulgences because I live in the real world. I also like the "Eat This, Not That" books. They are great!

thanks for the response! i definitely like to indulge. i go to the hardest language school in the country (DLI-FLC) and not being able to treat myself after a hard day's work is very depressing. i'll look into the SB phase 2.
