Monday
And today I pay the piper.
Beck – WI-up 4.25 lbs., I’m up over Saturday’s WI by 6 lbs, so I’m now up to what I weighed at the end of January. I thought a lot of my weight loss *last week* was due to losing water, and I’m hoping at least part of this jump is due water retention. But I have to take responsibility for going off-plan Saturday night. Read cards, made a plan for today. Food - op / Exercise – op. I ordered a new Wii game (My Fitness Coach) to start today, but I think the snowstorm is going to keep UPS from driving down our road today… Since I’m tired and worked until 7:30, I’ll change today from a 45 minute day to 30 minutes. And I’ll make Wed a 45 minute day instead. Tera – Congrats on the new chair and Bravo! For the new bathing suit! 71% op – credit!
Bill LOL at the free food Achilles heel of yours. Credit for walking there!
davidette Those are great insights. I never understood what you meant by ‘persist in victory’ before. But that is probably one of my core problems. Thank you something new to think about. Re popcorn at the movies – how about bringing a big purse and carrying a bag of healthier popcorn with you – either microwave or a Smartfood? I love smartfoods cheddar popcorn; I have it as an op evening snack every so often…
one by one Bravo! For planning and executing a day of good food! Sounds like you might be better off using your Wallmart card to buy some freezer bags.
Robin glad you're op for food!
angelmomma Your doc used a pretty powerful analogy: a vw motor in a Cadillac body. Perhaps that’s why I huff and puff going up hills – it’s like a vw engine trying to get a Cadillac up Pike’s Peak. I’m going to write that one down to read every morning. I hope it helps you to stay motivated and op. I think that’s what we all want more than anything else…

another @*%!ing flyby
i promised myself i'd give myself more time to sleep and rest, and that i'd go to bed NO LATER than 9:30 and here it is after 10:00 - but credit moi for actually finishing my taxes, staying OP, doing lots of cooking this past weekend, posting here. need to work on getting back on training plan for flying pig and going to bed earlier, already. somehow i will find the time to post personals, because i miss it! and feel like i'm not as connected when it's a blur like this. DH and el nino are sick now too, though i'm starting to get over the cold. focus on getting my energy back.
scale still happy - down to 166. never would i have believed...happy happy!

Hello, Beckbuddies!
Sluggish today - from inadequate sleep I'm sure. Been a little and I have not had as much resistance today as I'd like. I ate more dessert at a friend's birthday party than I might have if I'd been better rested, but not as much as I could have eaten. so.. yay?
Tomorrow will be better, with sleep.
Robin:
angelmomma: Glad that your doctor was able to give you a message that "clicked."
ChinaMaine: for taking responsibility and moving on with the plan!
Jean: Hooray for scale joy! for all the work you're doing and I do hope that you'll find the time for some solid rest and recovery.
Goodnight, Gracie!

Tuesday - Getting cold around here
Diet Coaches/Buddies - Exercise was shoveling the 14 inches of leftover February that fell upon us yesterday. CREDIT moi for the exercise. And additional CREDIT moi for reminding myself that I like the four seasons of New England instead of grousing the whole time.
Jean (kuhljeanie) - Yep, Kudos for staying OP in the midst of running about. And Big Kudos for finishing your taxes before the Ides of March.
onebyone - Kudos for packing up all your eats for the day. That's a secure Beck feeling to know that there are now no choices to be made. Getting started on the living room is the hardest part; once you've made some progress there's some reward in seeing the clear spaces.
Robin (RobinW) - Kudos for OP. RE "... except for exercise. I suppose I should do something about that." hmmmm ... good idea, LOL. That walking to work always seemed like a refreshing way to start the day.
Anne (wndranne) - Waving. Hoping another nap is in your life today.
Chris (angelmomma210) - Yay that the beta-blocker is doing it's job. Love that thought of a VW engine in a Cadillac body.
Tera (twilit tera) - Yay for the new chair. Yay for the new dresser. Congrats for a well received sociology paper. And Yep, the cost of FREE food isn't getting in to my brain, LOL. Could be that trying for moral outrage will work; I'm open to any weapon against this one.
davidette - Kudos for pushing yourself out to the gym in the cold. And neat notion, "would I really consider buying it?" I'm already thinking how to abuse that, LOL.
ChinaMaine - Ouch for that d*rn Piper. Like the IRS, always wants to get paid, LOL. Kudos for flexing your schedule about to match reality.
Readers -

Memory Card
I can't believe I was so resistant to sign up for exercise class. It wasn't hard! There were pleenty of other people my age there who were just as out of shape as I am. I'm actually so proud I made myself go. I really do feel so much more energized. I'm so glad I did it!

Quick hi to all Beck buddies--
I've been overeating and not reading or participating in this forum. (not good.)
I've joined New York Sports Club and I've worked out several times. Very good! I have a long way to go. The exercises I'm doing are still the ones the physical therapist gave me, and there is nothing for my upper body in that group of exercises. Took a snow day off but still didn't get to the gym yesterday. I'm trying to do it every other day. That way, if I skip 2 days, the next opportunity is the correct day! New plan for today: count calories, not points. 1500 plus vegetables, which I won't count (except for potatoes, corn, etc.) I did read the cards, the advantages list and the to-do list. My weight is up, up, up--I have to figure out how to change or eliminate the tracker. (Ok, I gained about 3 lbs. It's not that much. I read a few of the March posts at 4:00 AM or so--I wish everyone well and will try to respond more personally to people soon.

Just popped in early to check on my Beck friends in the Nor East. Glad you dug yourself out, BillBE, with your sense of humor in tack. Even I, the Hardy Minnesodan, have to admit I have not had to shovel 14 (!) inches...not sure ever!

Monday Report
63% On Plan (stretching, food, 3FCx2, careful movement, lights out @ 10pm)
Oh, well. (supplements, AI, computers off @ 9pm)
WI: Down 2
Feeling better today. More rested. The pool felt great this morning and when B asked if I wanted to get an extra session in on Saturday I jumped at it!
The new bathing suit is a tad small up top. Not so small as to be indecent, but on the verge. (very low where the top meets the bottom.) That'll get better with more weight lost, I'm sure. If I'd gotten the next size up, I'd shrink out of it too soon.
In spite of the awkwardness of my new suit, I've noticed less awkwardness around other swimmers. Today I struck up conversations with two fellas: one who was stretching nearby at the beginning and one who joined me in the hot tub toward the end (where I stretch). It felt good... very community-ish.
Bill: for finding something 2 positive things about shoveling snow: exercise and actual seasons. We've been chilly lately down south, but not that chilly. Winter for us lasted 24 hours.
Lily: it's good to see you! for getting your workouts! What do you mean that you want to change or eliminate the tracker?
maryblu:
Off to get breakfast and a chapter of sociology read!

Good Morning
Bill~ 14 inches! thatsalotta snow!! Kudos for taking advantage of mother nature's offer to get some exercise in.
We walked to work today Here is the thing....I havent been looking at walking to work as exercise. I suppose that's a good thing. It's become common place and I dont mind it at all.
ChinaMaine~ sorry the scale isnt moving the way you want it too. Great job tho in rearranging your workout!! Sometimes it takes too much out of you if you work out too hard when you are already tired.
Jean, maryblu, lillyyoung & Tera
Today is a little celebration day. Dh is taking me out to dinner, and its my choice. It is a planned meal, with planned drinks, and a planned shared dessert.
Im still getting on the scale daily, its been moving down the last couple days. I hope I have some of your great attitudes when it moves the other way
Have a great day everyone!

Did something fun last night...went online and found some 1956 cadillacs and make pictures of them. Make up note that said "A vw motor in a cadillac body" and put the pics on it. It may seem funny but it is a good reminder. Doing good today. A little sore because I have been off driving the bus for 4 days. My shoulders are what are sore. Have a good day.

Is it, by any chance, a birthday celebration?
Happy
Birthday

Is it really only Tuesday??
Finding it nice just to be on track again. My hubbie and I are going to buy our own snow-shoes (hopefully Thursday night!) It makes me happy all the snow is still here. I want a few more weekends of snowshoeing before mud season is fully upon us…
Beck – WI-down 1 lb. I also feel less bloaty today, so I’m hoping it is mostly water and the number on the scale will continue to go down over this week. Read cards, made a plan for today. Credit! Food - op / Exercise – op. Grrr UPS says they still can’t get down my road. But didn’t call me until the driver was gone. I usually go up and meet the truck when the usual driver is off. (The other drivers are all nervous nellies…) I really wanted to try out my new wii workout game – and my new yoga mat! Jeanie Glad you are feeling better, but too bad about DH and el nino. Credit for the taxes, OP and cooking! I hope to have the tax info organized and out the door by Wed night. I can see where doing the personals would add something – I know they are a big part of the reason why I’m op as much as I am. So, good luck in finding the time in your day to do it more regularly.
Tera – credit for not eating more of the cake and for doing part of your resistance training yesterday. Today is indeed a new day! And it looks like you are partly op again and enjoyed your swimming – Credit!
Bill Credit for shoveling! That was supposed to be my exercise yesterday, but since I worked late, my hubbie did all the shoveling. So I made dinner instead.
lilyyoung Credit for op food, reading cards etc and making a reasonable exercise plan! Soon your weight will be going down, down, down, I’m sure…
maryblu
Robin HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (I guess Bill let the cat out of the bag!)
-- Bravo! On still doing the daily-scale-stuff! And credit that your hard work is paying off! Enjoy your celebration tonight – you deserve it.
angelmomma I like your graphic reminder of your doc’s analogy. Hope it’s effective! And hope your shoulders feel better soon…

Happy birthday, Robin!!!!!! I hope it was a great day!
Just stopping by for a pre-bed check in. I'm tired. Whew - and I overate when I got home tonight. I was a munchie machine, and went about 350 calories over my allotment. Not part of the plan, obviously.
Tomorrow is a NO EXCUSES day for exercise! That's been missing more often than it's there, and that needs to stop. Tomorrow I will exercise!
Have a good night everyone!

Good evening, Beckbuddies!
Went down to Carter Blood Care and gave blood tonight. Found out I have really great blood, especially for babies and people with suppressed immune systems. I'll try to get down there more often than I've been.
Picked up diner food on the way home (meat loaf, green beans and mashed potatos) Left a lot of it for later, though. I was pleasantly surprised by the meatloaf - lots of tomatos and onions on it - no thick sauce!
The chair is still wunnerful. Oh and I've been carrying the left over fudge from last night all day in my purse, where it will stay until Friday so I can eat it on plan. At this rate, I might be 100% on plan today!
Robin: for walking to work!
ChinaMaine: Thanks for the link! for new snowshoes! What a great way to get more exercise! for being On Plan and losing a pound!
(Yes, today is really only Tuesday. I'm glad you asked because I was thinking I was the only one trapped in a time warp.)
angelmomma: for gathering the visual reminders as to why you're making healthier choices for yourself!
g'night all!

before bed check in
Hi!
Credit moi for sticking to my foodplan and for preparing it in advance and bringing it with me. Credit moi for a plan for food when I got home, late, tired and very hungry. Credit moi for not reaching for offplan food when I was still starving after I ate; and I was starving cause I waited too long to eat and was too tired so credit moi for not letting go of my resolve tonight.
 Happy Birthday RobinW!
Must go. Have a good evening gang!
