I was also wondering what the portion sizes are as I've loaned my books out and they have not been returned. . Thank you in advance for your help!

They use plans now. Plans 1-6. With your weight and height, you would start on Plan 4 (250-299), which allows, 4 protein, 4 vegies 2 fruits, 5 starches, 3 dairies, 1 fats, 3 extras. I have found Luna Bars are similar to the LA bars and cheaper. 1 bar = 1 starch + 1/2 dairy.
A serving of protein is about 100 calories, starch = 80, vegie = 25 , fruit = 60, dairy = 90 and fat = 45.
Unlimited starches include, melba toast, rice cakes, light bread. Limited starches, which you should not eat more than 2 times a week are potatoes, rice, noodles, ice cream, etc.
Meats, unlimited is white (turkey, chicken, tuna, egg beaters) limited - to twice a week-red meats/salmon...etc. (no more than 6 whole eggs a week)
Then, when you reach 249, you go to plan 3 (200-249) (3 proteins, 43vegies, 2 fruits, 4 starches, 3 dairies, 1 fat, 3 extras)
Then, when you reach 199 - you go to Plan 2 (151-199) - (3 P, 2 V, 2 F, 4 Starches, 2 D, 1 Fat, 3 extras.
Then, final plan 1 (anything under 150) - (2 P, 3 v, 1 fruit, 4 starches, 2 dairy, 1 fat, 3 extra)
They also recommend the take off plan every 2 weeks. This includes the take off juice, (I use Morning Blend - it is good).
The take off plan is for 2 days only:
It includes 6 oz of protein (cottage cheese, eggs, egg beaters, chicken, steak, shrimp, tuna, etc.)
Unlimited green vegies
2 LA Bars (or equivalent 1 starch 1/2 dairy per bar- for example: 1/2 cup skim milk with 2 slices of light bread or 1/2 cup light fat free yogurt with 5 low fat triscuits)
4 cups of Take off or equivalent (Morning blend-in the glass bottles in the juice aisle...delicious)
Atleast 8 cups of water
hot-lemon water to help relieve bloating
NO FATS or sweeteners (artificial or regular)
No salt
Only 3 times a day you can have 1 TBSP fat free or low fat dressing or 2 TBSP of Fat free Italian dressing.
Sample:
Breakfast:
2 oz. protein
1 LA Bar
Take off juice - 8 oz.
Lunch:
2 oz protein
Slice cucumbers/green peppers/ and zuchinni (unlimited green vegies)
Take off juice - 8 oz.
Snack:
Lettuch and spinach salad
2 tbsp. fat free Italian dressing
take off juice - 8 oz
Dinner:
2 oz protein
Steamed green beans-unlimited amount
Take off juice
Snack
LA Bar
I hope this helps.
