Default 1 or 2 whole eggs a day okay ?

Is eating 1 or 2 whole hard-boiled eggs a day fine ? Is it true that it is a good source of proteins and if so does the yellow contain proteins too or just the white ?

I love 'em. I think they got a bad rap on the cholesterol thing a while back - probably the people that had the problems were also eating a pound of bacon with their eggs

I've been eating an average of 2 (whole) a day since January and my cholesterol has actually dropped a whopping 74 points. Of course, they have to be part of a good balanced eating plan but as long as you fit them into your calories for the day, and watch that you aren't getting too much saturated fats from other sources, you should be fine.

I agree. I eat boiled, poached, or fried (in butter-flavored spam) eggs several times a week for breakfast, and my waist has been shreiking all year long! Just remember the big picture of your daily nutritional needs.
Happy Egging!

The whole egg is good for you. The yolk contains iron and other good stuff. Many women are iron deficient so eggs can help. Also, if you're following a very calorie restrictive diet eggs can give you a lot of nutritional bang for your buck.

Eat the whole egg! It's good stuff and got a bum rap a while ago.

If I had the time to make it for breakfast for myself every day, I would eat two whole eggs, scrambled in a bit of olive oil, with a whole mess of onions, garlic, peppers, tomatos, and other veggies sauteed alongside...and a huge glop of salsa on top. And I would have no qualms about doing so...that's a super-healthy meal!

Hmm, now I'm wondering if maybe I should change what I usually eat to include hard-boiled eggs, since I can't have my scramble every day.

i love a good hard-boiled egg with sea-salt and 1/2 slice of low-fat cheese, it's a high protein, lowcarb breakfast with 5 grams of fat and 70-100 calories (depending on how thin the cheese slice is)...the protein is filling and i then have my fruit for a mid-morning snack.

the only issue is that my baby-cat will sometimes steal the yolk/cheese if the egg is cut in 1/2 and i turn my back...some days i'm just not quick enough.

The yolk has slightly less protien than the white, but has nutrients that are beneficial also.
Here's a nice factoid page:
