Starches
Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What kind of starches do you guys eat on plan? I need some ideas, I am getting burned out on the same stuff. Are you allowed to eat 2 portions of cereal for your starch in one day? What fills you guys up but still tastes yummy. |
I eat a lot of brown rice but when I cook it I do it in broth instead of water sometimes for added flavor (low sodium broth). And then I'll add other spices at the end to change it up on different days.
I also have some whole wheat or multi-grain pasta once a week or so. Other than that I tend to have toast in the morning or cereal or an english muffin (whole wheat). Hope that helps a little!! |
when i was going to the center they gave me an idea (i had the same prob as you) two ryvita crackers with a light layer of cream cheese and sugar free jam. (1 starch) its very tasty actually.

Wheat thins, light bread, I have a frozen meal everyday during the week and that counts as one starch one protein. I like to have Wheat thins with egg salad. yum! Rice and pasta too. Veggie burger with light bun. grilling season. Ha!
|
1/2 whole wheat bagel, 1 small whole wheat pita. I also will look at the multigrains. There is a dempster's pita that is especially good and I eat it everyday.

I mix it up and recently I have been having all my starches before 3Pm and it seems to be helping me. My absolute fav is a 100 calorie pack of smart pop.
I do eat lotsa weight watcher bread since 2 slices =1 starch. I cook an egg with garlic and melt cheese on top then spray becel spray on the bread for the best pop breakfast! Good luck:) |
For starches I have rice cakes, 100 calorie cookie packs, smart pop popcorn, triscuits, melba toast, whole wheat toast, 3/4 of a weight watchers bagel, potatoe and once in a while I'll have pasta.
triscuits with cheese is a nice snack and surprisingly it seems to hold the fort when I'm hungry before dinner. |
