Default Plan colors?

Hi all,

What do the different plan colors mean? Is it different if you have 20 lbs to lose than if you have 100 lbs to lose?
I am on the gold plan and was wondering why the gold one for me?

Hi Chris!

This is never explained up front at LAWL, but they'll probably give you the reason if you ask -

My understanding is that the color plan is based on your starting weight, your goal weight and how much exercise you do.

I started at almost 229, and my goal weight is 145. I did little exercise. They started me on purple, and I'm due to change to gold when I reach 183, and I'll stay on gold until I'm at goal. If I wanted to go below 145 (say the 130's or 120's) they'd probably eventually put me on Green - when really almost sounds like starvation - .If you're pretty close (and to me 20 pounds sounds close) that's probably why they started you on Gold.

Does this help?

Feel free to drop in on our monthly thread! Between all of the smart chickies we can probably come up with SOME answer to a question - and you can help answer ours!

Hugs,
Julie

Thanks Julie.
Yes, that does answer it for me. Makes sense. I just needed to know if I was missing out on something

The plans are based on calorie level. There are a handful of different plans with different calorie ranges.

Everyone has a base metabolic rate (the rate in which you burn calories) and your current weight, activity level, age, and sex all play a part in that.

Men normally have a higher metabolic rate than women do naturally because they have more muscle mass than women do for instance-so a man at LAWL would be put on the highest calorie plan.

Teenage girls would most likely be put on one of the higher calorie plans because younger bodies have higher metabolisms, and they are still growing.

The more you weigh plays a factor as well-heavier people burn more calories carrying all their weight around-so you can start at a higher calorie plan, and as you lose switch to a slightly lower calorie level plan.

Activity level is a factor-if you exercise a lot you can eat more calories and lose weight-so someone who exercises for an hour a day *should be* on a higher calorie plan than someone who doesn't exercise at all.

Hope that helps! If you have any questions, let me know!
