Height: 5ft

Default ideal Weight

I was hoping i could get some input on what a ideal weight for me would be. At my lowest recent weight i was 135 ( but very mushy) I think i have a bigger frame, my ribcage and hip bones sorta stick out now...Initially i set a goal of 120 pounds, but have seen others around the same height ( 5 feet) whose goal is lower.. is there a acurate chart or something else i can use to gage a range for myself???

I posted this in the wrong place *sorry* i cannot figure out how to delete if a mod can move it, i would appreciate it.... ty

5ft is 100 pounds. That is what is recommended for you to weigh.

According to the scale I use - appropriate weight for someone 5ft. tall is anywhere from 95-125lbs....since everyone is built differently, there is a weight range...sounds to me like you have picked a perfect goal weight! Good Luck!

callme
I am very small built. I weighed 100 lbs before I became a woman lol. I was about 18-19 years old. At 100 lbs I look like a stick. I have seen sticks with more meat than I have at 100lbs lol. That is why there is a range of weights for different heights. You also need to remember. Muscle weighs more than fat. You can look great and weigh more than those charts say. Becareful listening to anyone about your perfect weight. Some people think everyone should look like a stick. Some think all woman should have rounded curves like you see in the wonderful old paintings. Until I put all this weight on because of meds the last few years I weighted 115 to 120 all the time.

120 is what I weighed when I got peggie with my children, that is what I weighed the day I came from from having my children. It was a good weight for me. Will it be the perfect weight for me now? Who knows, will have to wait until I get there.

The chart I go by says for 5' the range is 101 to 127, You fit in there someplace, depends how you feel and look. Try googling healthy weight for 5' you will bring up a bunch of weight charts, they vary but are usually pretty close to the same range.

I am pretty sure that it is 100 pounds for 5 feet, and add five pounds every inch..

I have 2 charts in front of me from the same publication. For a person 5' tall, if you are ages 19-34, the weight is 97-128. For ages 35+, the weight range is 108-138. As said in another post, muscle does weigh more, so just don't go by what the scales say as your guide. See how your clothing fits, see how you feel, and personally, see what your family doctor says.

Food Obsessed, for 5'6" on this same chart, ages 19-34 is 118-155, and for ages 35+ it is 130-167. My son's girlfriend is your height, she is 19, weighs 132, and she looks great! Don't try to go too low please.

I guess I have a totally different view on "ideal weight" I look at it like what is the weight that I will feel best at. Not what some chart/dr/website/book says I should weigh. I know for ME personally I am 5' 6" and 150-155 is perfect for me. I was at 135-145 and I look terrible, if I get over 160 I look a little heavy...so I feel/look good at the 150-155 range so that is where I shoot for.

Thanks you everyone for your response.. i guess the best thing to do, is to go by how i feel and how clothing fits..i am going to get to my goal, then see if i want to go lower from there...
