bar substitutes in Canada - help please

  • Hi everyone,

just a quick question for anyone that may be able to help. I read about all the bar substitutes - the Luna etc... but I have never seen them in Canada. I looked on the Luna website, and it said that they are not available in Canada. What are you Canadian members using, or is there somewhere that they can be found?

I do live about three hours from the States, and we do get down to that area three or four times thru the summer and fall, and I will look when I am down there, but in the meantime, I have been using Slimfast Optima snack bars. I know that they are not really all that comparable. There is very little protein in them, and I don't think there is any soy at all. They are also less calories, but they seem to be an easy low cal alternative to take the edge off the afternoon or evening munchies. I also only have one a day, and sometimes none at all.

anyway, just looking for some advise from anyone who can help me out.

    Thanks a lot.
  • You could always try ebay for the Luna bars, although at a glance it looks like there aren't many available and they're a hot sell, so it'd be hard to get your hands on them. Personally I've only ever done the lites and the all-food plan, so I don't think I can be of much help. However, I would recommend bringing the nutritional info from a box of lites in to a local health food store and comparing it with the bars there; maybe you'll get lucky and find something comparable!
  • thats a good idea - I will give that a try. I have searched on Ebay. I hate to buy an entire case until I have tried them, and know whether or not I will like them.

I will be in the USA in about three weeks, so I will find some down there probably at Walmart or Target - and give them a try. If they are good, then I can stock up.

    Thanks for the suggestion
