LAWL is pricey, but totally worth it! It definitely works. Besides helping you to lose the weight, it helps you to adjust your portions, etc. I definitely recommend!

Eevey - You're in the LA Weight Loss forum so all of us here are on LA Weight Loss. There is a thread telling you about the program at the top of the page that you can check out.

I don't think of LAWL as a diet. It's a lifestyle change. I believe that when i have called something a diet, it's never really "worked" for me. figuring out what changes you need to make in your life that work for you and how you can maintain and stick to those changes for life. LAWL teaches you things like this and how to create a balance.

One of the things I really like about this program is how it teaches you balance. And as you go along in the program you can see what your personal weak areas are and figure out how to do better at reaching that balance every day. For example, if I go out to dinner I will usually pre-plan my meal and plan the rest of my day around that. If I get there and stray off-plan, I can usually pinpoint what my downfall was, whether it was having a roll at the beginning of the meal, having too many beers or glasses or wine, or intending to have "just one or two" tortilla chips and then not stopping. I am able to figure out what I have gotten under control (bread, for example) and what I haven't (appetizers!). It's a learning process and this plan, with the counseling and balanced approach, helps you learn from your mistakes. Hope that helps, and I hope you check out the thread "What is LA Weight Loss" for some detailed info.

Question Diet Or Not

I Do Not Know If You Are Aware Of The Bob Green Ideas, But It Sounds Like The Same.

You're right. I haven't read his book, but I've seen him on TV. It's the same general concept, except you have someone to be accountable to when you WI 3 times/week.

When you are ready, you will know. I just wish I was "ready" when I was 150 instead of 260. But stick around here, and the other areas of 3FC. Sometimes the motivation will hit you when you least expect it.

Wow, that surprises me that you're gaining it back again. I didn't realize that could happen after the surgery, though why I didn't think that, I dunno. You're smart to get it under control now. Good luck!!

There are good days and there are bad days. I joined LAWL because I wanted to try one more thing before surgery.

As I'm munching fresh blueberries while typing (and savoring every one of them), I know that permanent changes are possible. Now the "bad days" mean I had one extra starch. Before they meant I had the McDonald's Extra Value Meal. Super Sized.

I just saw something on the local news the other day about 2 sisters who got surgery together and held each other accountable for their weight loss. They both said, along with their doctor, that if you get the surgery and don't follow through with a lifestyle change, you can gain the weight back...just an FYI.

But you're on the right track by catching it now, eevey.
