Default Just joined

Hi my name is Diane and I just joined this forum .
I am 40 and work fulltime . I have been gaining and losing weight for the past 15 years . Before that I was always thin but had an eatting disorder from the time I was 19 until age 26 . Once I got my self past that the weight started creeping on . I would gain 50 pounds and then lose 40 gain back , lose over and over . I am at my heaviest right now . Last year I got really sick and quit smoking for good . I am ready to lose all this weight the right way . I am eatting so much better already and walking everyday with no excuses .
I remember years ago taking 4 diet pills a day to stay thin . I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and am on meds to get that in check and on those you cannot take dit pills so thats a good thing :] . I feel very positive and swear I feel even better without the junk food . Less aches and better feeling in my head too . K have to go but nice to meet you all . What an inspiration you all are . I am very happy to be a part of this forum

Ella Diane, Welcome to 3FC, I'm fairly new myself and have 56lbs to loose. I adore this site and I know that this is gonna be the biggest part of my success this time. Good luck on your journey, look forward to sharing it with you and well done for loosing 8lbs already.

Oh thank you both so much . You don't know how appreciated your welcomes are . I am suprised I admitted the eatting disorders as I have never discussed it with anyone . See how comfortable you all make me feel ?

Only thing that worries me hunny (please dont take this the wrong way) is that after what you have been through and overcome, by setting yourself this severe target, you may fall back into old habits.

Excuse me as I'm having trouble with postings, they will be short.
I know how hard it is to admit to any form of abuse. your goal weight seems so drastic that in my experiences, that was my failure. Your in the right place now and us girls have MUCH LOVE for everyone here. We will support you whole heartedly which is why I say maybe set your goal at 200lbs. That alone will be a huge success, you will feel different and look different. When you get there, then set your new goal to 135. **** you may even find you you reach 170 and love it. I dont know Im not you, but I would hate to see you fall back to where youve come from.

Aww thank you and I understand completely where you are coming from . I do want to join some of the smaller goals groups once I learn my way around more . It was set at 130 and then I changed it to 135 because that was where I felt my most active . It may change over time but I really need to accept that I have a whole lot of weight to lose to be healthy . I am already happy :]
