I love the idea of a holiday recipe thread. I think we're going to have Thanksgiving at our house this year. It'll be my first year doing Thanksgiving. (We were in a tiny apartment, then Ben was only 2 months old, and last year I was 8 months pregnant.)

I'm getting ready to head to the gym as soon as the kiddos finish breakfast. Monday's weigh-in day for me.

Great Nikel1979 , I hope you share some good recipes with us.

Right now I am just doing all the points values for what I had on my Thanksgiving in October. I just did my gravy and it is only .66 pts (32.33 cals) for 1/2 cup and it is so yummy. Since yours is the 24th of November we have plenty of time to get everyone a great menu plan in place!

I lost 3 lbs!

My workout got cut a little short this morning. The child care had to page me because my 2 year old was having a meltdown. He was sick at the end of last week, but he seemed fine yesterday. I guess he's still feeling a little crappy though. I'll try to get in some extra pilates or something to make up for it if he takes a nap.

I would love to join this Christmas challenge. It's been a lot of lurking around trying to find a thread that has excited me and I hope this can be it. From reading your posts, all of you are really motivated to accomplishing your goals and I need that to keep me on track.

I want to lose 14 pounds by Christmas. This will put me at my goal weight of 130. I don't know if I will like 130 or not as I have not been there since I was a teen. Thanks for letting me join in! I look forward to spending the holidays with you

Hi there!

Can I join the Christmas Challenge too? I'd really like to be slimmer and happier at Christmas and be able to enjoy the kids excitement without enjoying their chocolate if you know what I mean!

Well, I managed to get through this day without eating anything more than what I wanted. I made my "No Pudge Brownies" and froze all but 2 of them. and I ate a 4 point bag of halloween cheezies. I really only ate the cheesies because I tried making brown rice in the microwave for supper and it was not a good thing! So I was craving a little carbo hit. I still have 12 points left for the day and must go have some yogurt now or something to use up a few more.

Hey did you all know that calcium helps maintain your metabolism? I think I am going to have to make a bigger effort to get my milk servings in.

I have my weigh in in the morning and unfortunatly it's my TOM. I hope it doesn't mess with it too much as I have been looking forward to loosing at least 2 to bring my total loss to 20.

I will check in sometime tomorrow with the results.

I hope the rest of you had a good night without too much temptation, Stay Strong!

Wow...I have a feeling this may be a long one. This is great that we have such an active thread with so many wonderful members.

Annie - I'm glad to hear that you didn't have a gain. It's so nice to have a supportive husband as well to help you on the program.

Becky - welcome to the group!

Bubblegum - don't be so hard on yourself. You know that you had a small slip, but the point is to get up. This is a journey and we are going to have detours along the way. However, if we continue in the right direction, then at some point in time, we will get to our final destination. It may take us longer than expected, but the point is that we get there. The holidays are always a tough time. If need be, take your own sweets, such asSF candy, with you. You've already lost 18 lbs. That's awesome. Keep up the good work! You can do it!!!

bratty - welcome to the group! I understand about setting small goals. I have a goal for Thanksgiving and Christmas. If I look at that final number, as I have done so many times in the past, I just get frustrated and quit.

SNS - welcome to the group! This is a great place for support. Congrats on the new addition to your family.

frankie - Congrats on the loss!!!

laura - welcome to the group! Don't be a stranger.

I would love to calculate how much we lose on a weekly basis. I think the number would be astounding!
