Post Lost Chick

Hello all!

What a fun site!

First timer from WV. Need to lose alot of weight, is anyone willing to take me under their wing? I need to lose the weight but clueless on how to get it done! I've always relied on fad diets for a quick fix, but I would really like to change-for good! Have three little chicks at home that I need to be a better role model for!!!!!!!!

Welcome AnnD ... you can get lots of help here! It is a great site.

Have you done any thinking about what kind of food plan you'd like to do? or extra activity? I could try to point out helpful threads.

Thanks for your help! I'm thinking of responsible carb. I've found that low carb usually means no carb and that just not something I can stick with. The zone plan sounds interesting but way to pricey, but if I could find something that's along that line that would be good. Do you agree? The biggest obstacle seems to be combining healthy and kid friendly. But I went to the Dr. and he was pretty upset with me. He said I really need to do something now before I wind up with some serious health issues.
I see you've almost met you goal, that is so wonderful!! How hard has it been? How did you do it? Can you offer any adivce? I hope you are proud of yourself, I am really impressed.

Why, thanks! I am pretty pleased.
Responsible carb is a wonderful way to go. I have trouble with the pricey deal too. So I count calories. Ordinary, everyday, real, natural foods. The only indulgence I buy, that is just for me, is protein powder.
And I exercise. Ann, I used to be the poster child for sendentary!
Was it hard? no. Was I a difficult pupil? yes. It's a learning curve. You get wiser as you go ... figuring out what works for you.
I'm going to try and cut and paste the link that I find very helpful.

As for kids, they can eat what you eat. Good vegetables, lean meats, hearty carbs.
Have a good read. Ask questions and I'll talk to you again soon.
