Welcome to 3FC, Tracy. This is a great diet that will lead you into a healthy lifestyle.
Please come and check out The South Beach Forum and come on in - the water's fine!
Yes, folks have lost large amounts of weight on this plan: Beachgal has lost over 100 pounds and is still losing! Shhh - but lots of us don't exercise at all!

Here's the link for Fat Chicks On The Beach. We also have lots of hints and recipes in the other two sub-forums. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/foru...s=&forumid=110

LOL But Tracy, I want to say to you what I tried to tell my dad, who is diabetic and has had 6 knee surgeries. Even wheelchair bound, any exercise can be better than no exercise. Even if it's his bending over to make toe touching motions as far as he can go, lifting free weights, doing some waistline twists in the chair...movement is good for everyone. All of these things can be done while watching television. And eventually they can become a habit. You could stand and walk in place while he does his twists and get your exercise together while watching a good movie together.

Hi, Tracy!

You might check out Collage Video(http://www.collagevideo.com/). Their catalogue includes stretching, toning and even aerobic videos for folks with limited mobility.

Good luck--it must be nice to have a buddy right there with you!
