Hi, I'm 22 and graduating from college in May. When I was in high school, I was an athlete and in excellent shape. After my first semester at college, everything went downhill. I finally have figured out that I can't eat like a teenager anymore and that I'm missing my 3-hours of sports practice everyday after school. As a result of my slacking - I've put on atleast 25-30 pounds since I've been at school. I'm 5'9" and I weigh 161.
My new goal is to leave this weight where I found it - at college. I would like to lose between 15-20 pounds before I graduate. That's almost 2 months away so I'm going to be cutting it close, but even if I'm on the right path I'll be happy. I would like to atleast have all of that weight off before my fiance leaves for Iraq in June. After that, I'll have a year to get in amazing shape to surprise him when he returns!
I've been yo-yoing for the past year with this weight and I'm just completely uncomfortable in my own body. I have bulges where I used to have muscles. I've been so aware of my "back fat" lately and I just want to be able to wear my clothes comfortably again! If anyone else is in a similar boat or even if you just want to help me by being my "check in" I would be grateful! Also, please give me any tips about healthy foods to eat. I'm cutting calories and avoiding things like sugar, refined white bread, and fatty foods, but I'm not sure if what I'm eating is helping or hindering my progress!
I've started doing Pilates daily for atleast 20 minutes and I take an aerobics class twice a week. I'm also adding strength training and running as my schedule permits - ITS SO HARD! Any tips or motivation for exercise are greatly appreciated!
