Smile Restarting my weight journey

It is so easy to get distracted in life and then notice, 18 months later, that you (I) are 20 pounds heavier. I used to think 165 was bad, and I've sailed way past that number.

So, new initiative started this week. Eat less, log everything, limit calories, walk more, and maybe I can start reducing again.

I'll be on the forums looking for support and tips from all.

Thanks for being here for me.

I'm just about to start my weight loss journey. I have such a long way to go that it seems impossible at this point. I'm hoping that following others will inspire and motivate me. My family are no help. I look forward to finding weight loss buddies!

Well, good news, on day 3, I am, at least by the scale, down almost 2 pounds. Although I know it is probably mostly water weight, it is very encouraging. Little things like that help me a lot, small rewards.

Default good luck to you

I am re-starting my diet, too, and I find that it harder the second time around. Any tips you can share are appreciated. Best of luck to you!

So far, calorie counting has been a real eye opener for me. I'm logging into MyFitnessPal, but there are plenty of equally good apps. This makes you, to be accurate, weigh and measure each protion. I used to eat a bowlful of tortilla chips, but then I read the nutrition info. A serving is just 10 chips. So I count out 10 chips and I have to be satisfied with that. It also sort of makes you appreciate each bite more when you know it is limited. I'm logging everything I put in my mouth, and really trying stay below my chosen calorie count per day, which is about 1550. I used to eat 1800-1900 per day, I think, and maybe more. And obviously though this, I am choosing healthier options, because that where the calorie savings come in.

I have a loving, food pusher of a husband who equates making elaborate meals with showering you with affection. I understand entirely. You can do this!

Good luck!

Also, don't discount that "probably just water weight" - you earned it, it's gone, it's weight you don't have to carry so CONGRATULATIONS.
