Default Hi from Texas. New to the site

Hello to all! Came across the site a few days and finally got the courage to join.

I currently weigh 268 (heaviest was 286.2). I have lost a few pounds here and there but end up gaining it back. I am looking to lose at least 60 pounds. Since I am 5'10, I do not look like what I weigh at all. However, I am wanting to lose the weight so I can feel better about my health when I get pregnant.

I feel a little lost at this point of what the best direction/eating plan to use is. I know portion control is a huge part.

Just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to reading all the posts out there.

Yeah, you've come to the right place! There's tons of info on all sorts of eating plans here, as well as helpful challenges and support groups to join for mutual accountability. Look around and ask questions if you're uncertain which way to go. (You're right you probably don't look your weight - You tall people are lucky that way! Every 5 lbs shows on us shorties!)!

Portion control is a good start. Getting active too. As for your eating plan, there are lots of good plans out there, lots of them are followed here on the forum. It took me a while to find what works for me but it's worth all the research. Intermittent fasting 3 days a week works for me, I love it! I'm also starting to lower my carbs on my non-fasting days too, just to see if it makes a difference. Good luck with your choices
