I'm new, just looking for friends and addtional weight loss support
Hi.... my online name is MySprouts - that's because I LOVE brussel sprouts!!! I had never eaten any my whole life until about 6 months ago, I was interested in losing weight and was curious what they tasted like. Not only did I discover that I love them, I CRAVE them! That's a good thing because they're good for me (so much better than the french fries I used to eat).
I have been "dieting" since April 1st (2013) and have been steadily losing ever since. I started out at 176 lbs (my all time high) and I'm currently down 44 lbs. to 132. I am somewhere between 5'5" and 5'6" (I used to be 5'6" but I am slightly shorter than that now for some reason). I am 46 years old but most people think I'm in my mid to late 30's. That's a blessing I inherited from my mom.
When I began my weight loss journey, I was having a lot of migraines and also a constant headache (when it wasn't a migraine). I was popping headache pain pills almost constantly. I knew that wasn't healthy for me and I was feeling tired all the time and got so easily out of breath. So I knew I had to change.
I started out with some kind of diet plan and walking. That worked well, but somewhere along the way, I found all the kinds of foods I really enjoy and so I just eat those. And my walking has turned into running. I LOVE running! I am not into doing marathons or anything. I don't care about finishing a race, how fast I can go, or even about how many miles I've gone. I just run when I feel like it and stop when I'm ready to. I run because I love it and it makes me feel good. That is a lifestyle change that is staying.
As for my eating, I eat what I want now but it's all good food (mainly clean eating). I discovered that it was processed foods and junk that was causing all my headaches, so I cannot go back to those kinds of foods ever, which is fine with me because I no longer crave them. I eat what I want, as much as I want, and still have room for some chocolate candy.... and I'm still losing! It has been so easy, I almost don't believe it. I should have done this years ago.
As far as weight charts go, they all show that I'm right in the middle of a healthy weight range for my height. I am not really trying to lose much more weight (just those last 10-12 lbs would be nice though, I used to be a size 4 at 120-125 lbs until I had my son) and so whatever is falling off of me I guess is just the very last fat that left...lol. I do hope I will stop losing because I can't go back to eating the way I used to, but what I'm eating now (even with candy and some ice cream treats daily), I'm still steadily losing. It's been good to see it go, but I hope there's a point it will naturally taper off to just maintaining. Anyone with tips, I'm very welcome to hearing.
