Hi everyone
I am very excited about joining this forum. I have been lurking for a little while and I really like all of the wonderful support and encouragement everyone offers here! I am also so inspired by all of the before/after stories.
I am 5'10 and was always skinny since a child. As an adult I could eat whatever I wanted and stay at about 120. Then I went through all kinds of infertility treatments and surgeries and medicines trying to have a baby which never happened and eventually about 10 years ago ended up having a hysterectomy which they took everything out! Then I have had some surgeries on my achilles and was in casts and wheelchair for about 2 years and also had some more surgeries, anyway all of this led me to gaining weight. Now I weigh 180! My first goal is to get down to 150, then maybe 140 not sure about that yet. I know I don't want to get down to 120 like I was before. My DH gets tickled at me sometimes, he will tell me that he remembers when I tried "everything" to "gain wieght" and now I am trying "everything" to lose weight.
I am 50 years old, DH and I will celebrate our 33 wedding anniversary in July! Like I already said we don't have children of our own but we do have many, many children in our life. I am a Sunday School teacher in our church and so we have children over a lot from church and we have many nieces and nephews and we have 23 wonderful furbabies of our own!!
