Long overdue
Hello all!
My name is Natalie~ I'm 25, live in Texas.
Committing myself to a healthier lifestyle and losing weight is looong overdue. In the story of my life, I'd say I've been fat for 85% of it. My father is a chef, and my mother's side of the family carries the genetics for charm, humor, and gaining weight. (Can't have it all I suppose~)
Anyway, I've grown up fat... and as much as it's been on my 'To Do' to lose weight it's been very difficult for me to break 25 year old habits. Still, since I'm hitting those 'prime years' in my 20's I realize that in time this will get harder to overcome and I certainly do not want my life to be shortened because I didn't make an effort to take better care of myself while I was young.
So I signed up for Weight Watchers two weeks ago. I've only lost 2.2 lbs, but my scale at home says I dropped 4 lbs this week so woot! Small beginnings. All in all I'm a really positive person. I don't 'hate' my body, even as it is now... because I feel even my out of shape soft body has gotten me through life thus far, carried me, and been strong when I needed it to be... so now I'm going to take care of it for a change. Hope to make some new friends!!! :hug:
