I have MOTIVATION!

  • Hey all,

I've been on this site before...even had a blog and whatnot. As a lot of people I just kind of slowly floated away. I never gained anything back from what I lost when I initially joined this site, but I was what you would call in "maintenance" phase where I would eat just enough to sustain my weight, no more no less. Which is good, because that came normal to me.

So, anyway. I got engaged right before Christmas last year. With all the "Say yes to the dress" "4 Weddings" and all the other cheesy wedding shows I watch, you'd think I would have every detail planned out by now. Well....apparently, I'm actually behind and cutting close. I don't have a dress yet! I'm getting married September 13! 6 Months is "late", from what everyone else says. Anyway, so we were kind of nonchallant about the whole thing and were going to stay HAPPILY ENGAGED for awhile until the inlaws brought it up...that kind of got us off our butts to make some decisions and stop saying "I don't care." "whatever"...so I started my calorie counting again last Monday...I started at 192...and I am now 184.0 already. That's kind of big for me since, as you'd know if you read my blog, getting into the 180s was a WAR with my body...like it deliberately fought me on it! And so, 184 is a HUGE thing since I've always fluctuated between 192 and 187....

The point of all this is it doesn't feel like work this time around. It's just, I'm doing it and that's it! Ladies and gents, if you were/are like me, where you just can't maintain that motivation to keep going, then get engaged!

    So...I'M BACK!
  • Yay! Congrats!! Keep up the motivation and good luck!!
  • Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding! We will be here every step of the way! Plus we want all the wedding details as you plan them. I love weddings!!
  • Congratulations on your new motivation. As a wedding planner, I can tell you that I plan weddings in 6 months all the time, so you can do it. The weight loss is in a good time frame. Do you have a venue yet and any vendors picked out for your wedding? I know I'm not in your area, but let me know if you have any questions.
  • Congratulations on the weight loss! That is awesome! Your blog sounds like it was (or is a god read). When you get to 20 posts, I'll be watching for the link. It is great to know that others are diligently losing weight and that they are pushing themselves (and ourselves) is crucial! As no one can workout for us!

Best of luck to you! And congrats on your engagement!

    Thanks guys/gals!

My Blog link is (should be) under my avatar.

That's so cool, bbrides, that you're a wedding planner! My venue is at the Peppermill casino. I went with their ceremony/reception package, so I really don't have anything to do myself, so that makes it so much less stressful

I just REALLY want to find the perfect dress. My tentative brides maids (2/3 of them) are out of state/country and so that is kind of stressful....wondering if they're even going to partake in the wedding party when the day comes. It's a waiting game until I'll know for sure, but I WISH I knew now, that way I can choose more. I'm IN LOVE with Essense of Australia dresses! Any tips on choosing dresses would be much appreciated. I envisioned choosing dresses and stuff like that before, and I always get myself to tear up then envisioning it, but now that I'm in that moment doing it...it's just like... ehh. that's nice...or ehh. next.

Thanks y'all for the warm re-welcomes! feel free to read my blog to get caught up with my journey thus far.
  • Welcome and good luck on your journey!!

    Thank you!
  • Your diet blog says its been deleted.

Planning a wedding can be stressful but I am happy to hear you have it at an all inclusive venue. That helps tremendously. To alleviate the bridesmaids issue, you can have them wear a dress of their choice in black (or navy, pink, etc.) so you aren't as rushed or worried about whether they'll be in it. For you it is more challenging because you want to lose weight first. Some of my brides have started shopping once they lost 20 lbs and buy it in a larger size. That way it can always be taken in. Don't ever buy a gown guessing what size you'll be because you may not make it to that goal. Better to be a smart shopping bride.

You can definitely reached your goal by September and sometimes having a dress hanging where you can see it or a photo of yourself in it will really motivate you.

I look forward to seeing your success.
