Default New here too!

Hi! My name is Alice and I am 47 yo and just starting my weight loss journey and also a journey to living healthier.I weighed in today and am starting at 314lbs...ugh! I have started every "diet" out there and some multiple times! I love this site because everyone is so supportive of each other. So day 1 ---here we go! I decided to start with a detox plan that I found on Pinterest. I figured that would start me off with a bang! All fruits the first day, all veggies the second, fruits and veggies the 3rd day....I think that will be the roughest day...will be craving the protein and carbs big time by then. So I got thru the first day without stopping at the McDonalds or the White Castle I saw while driving today! yah! And drank no diet Dr Pepper today! I can drink lots of that! So hello to everyone out there!

to you!

Its wonderful to have you come and join us all on this journey. Have you thought about what plan/how you are going to eat after your 3 day Fruit/Veg eating? Thats the really nice and wonderful thing about this site, as there is so much information and stories of how people are succeeding on their plans. The challenges are fun and motivational too. GLAD you have come on in!

Welcome. I would like to encourage you to drink 100 ounces of water per day until you get below 200 lbs and then 1/2 your weight in water. I lost 86 lbs back in 2006 and I credit a large part of my success to drinking the water. That is the advice my doc gave me. He said don't drink any more than 100 ounces though. Have you thought about any exercise? Are you comfortable walking? If so, start slow and build up. If not, I started out using Sittercise which is chair exercises. It is designed for senior citizens but I had a back injury so that is all I could do. Now I work out in the pool 3-4 times per week. Yust find something that will work for you and start. You will build up to more vigorous exercise if you body is in the shape to do it. I am still in a wheelchair if I have far to walk so that is why I go to the pool. Just remember that I am here cheering you on. You did great on Day1; keep it up on Day 2! Blessings, firegirl

Thanks firegirl441 I will drink lots of water....I find if I get a big glass with lots of ice and use a big straw I tend to drink more. To Wannaskipandlaugh, I dont have a set plan for after the detox...I am looking on different sites to find a target for calories. I am diabetic and find when I try to lose weight that I bottom out in the middle of the night and wake up in a sweat and shaky. At this point planning to reduce calories and try to get back to the gym next week if I am feeling better. Has anyone tried those Slimful bars where you eat it and drink 8oz water with it? Thanks
