Hi mrsyoung and sweetascanbe, I'm new today too. I'm doing Optifast and started 2 weeks ago. I'm looking for buddies too... I feel like I've lost the same ten pounds at least ten times and am so sick of it! I am hoping if I have someone to talk to, I will be able to keep going this time. I don't exercise much because I get hurt when I do. I'm trying to increase my steps.
Mrs Y-I love your spirit! Sweetascanbe I click with your randomness
Let me know if you want to do a three musketeers buddy thing...

That sounds awesome! What do you think, sweet? Either way, I'd love to keep in touch/encourage each other... I haven't been a member long enough to PM though...

Great ladies!
I'll have to look for the buddy list thing I'm starting off the week well, made my spicy veggie/chickeny/ mexicany soup for the week and got a cool surprise from the hubs! Tomorrow is our 25th anniversary and we are going on a cruise (bahamas!) this weekend. Second surprise in 25 years but I'm not complaining Gonna take the Optifast food with and do lots of veggies and salads. I just want to be WARM. LMK how y'all are doing!

Awesome! Happy anniversary! Way to go hubster!
I definitely need to jump on the "plan ahead" bandwagon and start cooking some things that will stretch over at least a few days. I have to debate what I'm going to eat and it gets frustrating. But, I did buy a notebook just so I can do that. Now to put it to use.
Today was good. Day 6 of my new eating style and still no cheats. It has been tempting to steal a couple m& ms my kid brought home from school, but I told those things where they could go. The kids I think thought I lost it when I was talking to candy and making it cry. Not really. I didn't talk to it, but would have been funny to watch their faces. Have a super fantastic cruise!
Oh, I have to add....I LOVE you for saying y'all. I do it all the time and people make fun of me for it. it Now I can let the y'alls flow!

Hi ladies, sorry it has been so long! Got back from the cruise and life hit full force I brought my Opifast food with me and ate a salad and one "lite-ish" meal each day and had one margarita and one dessert. I think it helped that I planned it that way. So I lost a pound the week of the cruise and am down 12.5 lbs for 4 weeks on the program. Not the 5 a week they said but I'm adding salad and veggies so I can stay with the plan. How are y'all doing? I hope you are well! Let me know!

Gah, pick me! LOL. I would love to chat it up with you. I am a 25 year old mother of two. Full-time student, former cute-cuvy, current fun-fatty. lmao. I just joined this forum today because I realized I have NO girlfriends! (sad, I know) Being a mom and student who is very actively trying to lose weight leaves little time for lunch dates and cocktails. :/ Plus I recently moved, and it's hard to make new friends when you are the only fat mom in a classroom full of teeny 19 year olds!
In late Dec. I weighed 310 lbs (holy heck, how did this happen?), since then I am at 280. Basically I eat low-fat vegetarian most of the week, and two meals over the weekend my honey and I indulge a bit (think, two slices of pizza or going out to breakfast). These two "cheat" meals a weekend seem to be helping me stay on track during the week.
Really trying to up my activity level. We bought a treadmill and I get on it and run (literally) for two minutes at a time about ten times a day. I know, kind of a strange way to go about it. I'm also just walking on it for 15 to 20 minutes a day at a higher incline to get the sweat flowin'!
I am feeling very committed to this, which is a marked difference compared with previous attempts. Working on being kinder to myself in my own toughts, if you know what I mean! Seems to be helping so far.
Good luck, I added you to my buddies!

New Thread for us gals!
Welcome to all of you gals that are just joining in! I have been here 20 days as of today. I find great motivation and encouragement here. I did find it hard at the beginning that I couldn't keep up with where I posted. To make it easier on all of you gals, I just started a thread under Weight Loss Support entitled "The New Girls of week 3/18/13" This way, we can all talk to each other about our ups and downs and get the encouragement and motivation we need to reach our weight loss goals. The going isn't easy for me, but I have been successful before and I am working hard to do it again. Hope you all come on over and join in the fun. Blessings,

Thanks for the amazing replies...I really appreciate all of you. I am currently doing a combination of WW Points Plus and starting an exercise regimen. I know, like one of you stated, if I just said "eat better", I'd be kidding myself. I mean, i THOUGHT I was doing great before!
So, I wasn't sure if I got any weight loss buddy offers...I'm a little dense that way ha ha...so feel free to PM me. I promise to be available and supportive, and I don't do social media, but I do check my email daily, would be will to messenger chat, and give my work email when we both feel comfy.
I just don't want to do this alone. I have LITERALLY no friends, and I don't try to make any because I am so self conscious. I mean, what if we go somewhere and we have to walk up STAIRS together? STAIRS! That's a deal breaker, and then I would just be that much more self conscious because I'm out of breath and reddish and everyone else is laughing and talking and then they look at me funny and I can't explain because I CAN'T EVEN BREATHE so...whoo, I went way further with that than I meant to.
Plus, I hate eating with skinny people. Or fat people. Or my kids. Or really anyone. I'll just eat in a dark closet. Cause I don't want to eat with myself, either. That would be eating with a fat person.
My husband is so not supportive, so he's no help. We're actually pretty distant at this point; I spend most of my non work hours with my kids.
Thanks all for your replies and encouragement- let's keep in touch!

Hi, MrsYoung! I am a little older than you, but I'd be happy to buddy up! I am a SAHM, don't have a whole lot of friends, and don't have ANYONE to go through the trials & tribulations of trying to lose this weight with. (That's why I'm here. Lol) My hubby's a skinny little thing who never has, and probably never will, have a weight problem. And he's pretty ambiguous about my size. He's not negative about it or anything but, yeah, he's not much help either.
I did the WW points program online for a little while last year. I did lose some weight, but my head wasn't really in the game at the time so I couldn't justify paying the fees. Right now, I'm using Sparkpeople for calorie & exercise tracking because it's free, and honestly, I like their website better.
I'd better get moving. This is a wonderful website & all, but sitting here typing isn't burning enough calories! I wish you the best of luck & hopefully we can keep in touch!

Hello mrsyoung0601 :-)
Weight loss buddy oh yes please it's so nice to know others struggle aswell but we can do it.
I have about 60lbs to lose and I'm also doing weight watchers... I've so far lost 8.5lbs in 8weeks so it's slow but it's coming off..
I have stopped all my (gonna sound a little crazy but I'm trying to be honest here) eating choc in secret and thinking that if no one saw me do it it didn't actually happen...crazy but true.
I'm so unhappy with my weight and my body at the moment and I really wanna make this the year that changes, I'm getting married next year and that is my goal to be at a healthy and happy weight, shape and size by then.
I try and remember a saying my aunt (who lost her weight on lighter life and kept it off) once said to me "nothing taste as good as slim feels" although when I'm eating a fresh cream cake I do wonder if the person who first thought this had ever tried the food I have :-)
So I know I'm from uk and your are a lot of miles away from here but we are going through the same and it's nice to know we can support each other...that goes for everyone on here xx
WE CAN DO THIS!!! :-)
