Hello, everyone.
I've been lurking around for a bit now, reading your stories and cheering you on.
A short introduction to me:
I was a normal kid till I changed schools in the forth grade. I hated the new school and was bullied, so began to comfort eat. By high school, I was well over 200 pounds, but stopped weighing myself so I don't know how much- size 28 jeans, in any case.
Lost the weight just before college (freedom! wa ha ha ha ha!) and kept it off until I started having kids. Was doing okay getting the weight off until loads of tragedies, major and minor, conspired to completely derail me.
Now, at 45, I'm reasonably healthy but big. (126kg) No problems with blood pressure or diabetes, but a switch just flipped recently and I decided it was time to start paying my body a little more attention before problems occur, plus setting a better example for my kids.
So. I'm just trying to cut out fat, control portions, lay off unhealthy snacks, and increase my exercise. In return for this, I hope to be rewarded with a slow, steady weight loss of about 60kg (145 poundsish) over the next two years or so. Hopefully, without too much baggy skin.
Looking forward to the forum, you will probably find me in the 100+ and 40something threads
