Default Hi, my name is..........

Teri and I'm now a fat chick

Until 2-3 months ago I was holding 230 AND still relatively content with where I was but NOW it seems like I'm gaining a pound a day and woke up to 251.4 this morning! I truly feel more like a rock now than "fluffy" - I have successfully lost weight before, as recently as last summer when I went from 241 to 219 using HCG and late 2010/early 2011 following Atkins was down to 200 at my lowest point.

I just got married last Halloween in Vegas, to the most wonderful understanding man, but I was 30lbs lighter then & although he doesn't care (except for my health) it's bugging the heII outta me.

M&M's at work can be my downfall, but 3 cheese sandwiches can get me just as bad I need to really just set my mind to it again - I know I can do it but .............

Hi Teri,

Welcome to 3FC. It sounds as if your first step might be deciding on a diet plan (and maybe a backup plan).

Are you someone who does best with structure, with open-ended stuff, a plan where you buy and eat their food, a plan where you cook yourself.

One of the things that I'm mentally adjusting to (and I haven't been at this long THIS TIME) is that this has to be a permanent change--I can't just lose weight--I'm mentally planning for maintenance at some point in the future.

You'll find a lot of support here--welcome!

Hi Teri! it sounds like you are ready to make some serious changes! Congrats There are lots of options out there for you to start working towards your goal. You just need to find what works best for you. Calorie counter over here. For me its the easiest. I use an app on my phone to track every single thing I eat (mynetdiary, myfitnesspal, loseit) there are many to chose from. I have started to exercise 5 days a week. Mostly light cardio to start. I suggest looking for threads that you identify with (20 somethings, calorie counters etc)

Good luck on your journey

Hi Teri!

You'll definitely find support here. It helped me so much to actually concentrate on my weight loss and what I was doing to my body. It's great having this website so that you don't feel like you're stressing out your friends and family!

Here, 3FC community understands that you HAVE to be focused (others my call it obsessed) with your weight loss journey so that you stay focused rather than go back to poor health habits. While my friends/fam are supportive, they're all on different points of their health/fitness/weight loss journey. Everyone at 3FC gets that and can give you as much support as you need.

Good luck and don't be a stranger!
