Introducing myself--
I'm 60 and a widowed Army wife. I've struggled with food issues for most of my life, including anorexia and bulimia. I'm stable in terms of those issues but will always consider myself "recovering" instead of "recovered!" I'm here because I've finally slipped into diabetes after years of being "pre-diabetic." I'd really like to be healthy--that's my goal!!
I broke my foot last April and it's still broken--not fun. It's making exercise difficult but there are some things I can do. I'm out of the cast--just taping it and wearing a supportive shoe.
Since I have to do blood sugars all the time, I'm finding it somewhat easier not to nibble all day long--my biggest issue.
I need to lose at least 40#. My adult weight has varied by 110 pounds, from too thin to obese. Both ends of the spectrum have been very unhealthy for me.
I'm so glad I've found you. It will be easier not to do this alone.
Welcome, fellow Iowan! I live in Eastern Iowa, right on the beautiful Mississippi. If you need support, you've come to the right place. I was floundering alone during the first half of my journey and am so grateful I found 3FC. Best of luck to you and make sure you post, post, post!
Whatever your situation, there is a thread for you! This place is a great wealth of information for many different topics! Good Luck.
P.S. I used to live next door to you (Nebraska) I miss Runzas!
