Newbie here
Hello, my name is Lynette and I just happened on this website today and thought I'd check it out. So far, I really like it!
I am 57 y/o (or will be in a few days) and have gained and lost weight most of my adult life. Maybe some of you know the story: gain weight, lose weight, gain more weight, lose weight, and so on. I have two teenage sons and my parents living with me. My parents both are in their 80s and have serious health concerns. Knowing these wonderful people all count on me, I have every reason and (one would think) motivation to lose weight. So why don't I? Oh yes, I do know the answer. I have still not put my health ahead of my desire to consume stuff that tastes good. I don't eat because I'm hungry. I eat because I like it. I did get to paste a name to my eating habit: "compulsive" I even get to go to a Nutritionist and be counseled, which is wonderful.
I need to get my weight back to a reasonable number so that when my son graduates in May, 2013, I will look good and feel good, and while I'm SO proud of him, he can feel proud of me, too.
I look forward to using the tools available here and to chatting in the forums with others that have gone and are going through the same challenges as I am.
