Hi everyone,
I'm a 23 year old female from New York. I just stepped on the scale for the first time in months and gasped at the number looking back at me. I can't believe it said 275. I'm totally shocked, but I'm not going to turn that sadness into a depression that brings me to comfort in food-- I won't. I can't. So, here I am
I've been dieting off and on for years, with intermittent successes here and there. But, I'm not so interested in dieting as I am in lifestyle change. Some of my success in the past came through the Michael Thurmond 6 week body makeover which is all about cooking healthy, limiting sodium, and lots of lean meats and vegetables. Problem was, I never stuck with it. I'm feeling pretty motivated, so that's my plan dieting wise. Has anyone tried it before?
Exercise, I'm a bit lost with. I have a gym membership from last Christmas that I've yet to activate, so that's where I'm starting. I have no accountability in my life because I have a lot of skinny friends that don't gain a pound, and I'm embarrassed to confide how unhealthy I've gotten (as if it's a secret). If anyone wants to be a weight loss buddy, I'd love that!
Other than that, I anonymously stalked through a few of the forums and I'm impressed with the honesty and sincerity you all post with. I'm excited to be joining in. Cheers to a healthy new start!
