Gosh its like I just woke up and looked.in the mirror and now I am freaked out. I was always too thin and now I am 50 pounds over what I should be for.my height of 5'6. The interesting thing is that I don't know what happened. But am starting on a liquid.diet.for.a.few.weeks and will see what.happens. I am single, 61 and a cancer survivor and need lots.of.moral.support. Help!
Welcome to the forum. Life happens. We get busy with work and family and we forget about taking care of ourselves.
My mom is 68 years old and has lost almost 90 llbs. She is proof that weight loss can happen no matter what the age.
Best of luck you.
Yep life happens. It doesn't matter how anyway, what matters is you can change things, you already decided to start and that's going to make things change on your terms. You can do it!

Be careful with a liquid diet! You'll be much more likely to gain it back right away, and that might be more damaging. But whatever you do, hang in there! You can do it
I never had a weight problem til I was in my 40's. 4 or 5 pounds a year have been creeping on. Now I'm in my mid 50's, arthritis in both knees and 60 pounds overweight! I went on my first diet this year - South Beach. I've lost 15 but have plateaued (and cheated) for the past 4 months. Soooo this week I'm back to phase one. :/ Not much fun but it works if I don't cheat. I'm lifting weights at the gym again so that should help. On the other side of menopause, our bodies just don't work quite the same. I don't miss pads and tampons, but I HATE my Menopot!!!
Welcome!! I'm 65 and proof that it can be done, although I believe in just eating healthful foods and exercising. But I wish you the best in your weight loss endeavor.
Been on diet now for one week and feel pretty good drinking two shakes a day and eating one healthy meal. Don't have a scale in the house, banned them a long time ago, but feel better and I swear my stomach is smaller.
