Default Hi, new from Va

Hello,

I decided to join today and hopefully get some support. I want to lose about 30 pounds, well that's my goal. I am 38, 5ft 3.5. I was always soooo little growing up...skinny..could eat anything. Once I had my second child and went through nursing school and college 10 years ago I started gaining weight. My highest back then was 150's. Now since I was diagnosed 3 years ago I rocketed up to 172. Talk about depressing. I went to the md earlier this year and my bp was staying in the 130's over upper 80's or 90. I knew it was time to do something.
So I started changing my diet in late Jan, started walking in mid feb. I could only do about 10 minutes..lol. Now I have lost 12 pounds! I am up to two miles or a little over in 40 minutes. I think the 12 pounds was probably all water weight. But I feel better, have more energy and look a little slimmer. My fibro pain has been better once my body got used to my exercising. I want to get down to 130, I don't know if this is possible at my age, almost 39...on the 17th!
Now, I have a question.lol. I am kinda hanging out at 159. Is this the fat burning stage? since the 12 was probably water weight? I am assuming the weight loss will slow down. I don't want to get discouraged because at first it was just coming off, now I have hit a slow spot. I am eating healthy and have occasional treats. I don't have enough money to join a gym, so my treadmill and a few weights is all I have. Any suggestions help would be great.

Thanks!!
Karen

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your amazing loss to date. Your doing great. Even if you loss has slowed down, hang in there and stick to your plan, your body sometimes has to catch up when you make changes to your diet and exercise.
Your doing great! Hang in there.
