New here!
Hello! I'm new here and just starting my weightloss journey.
I've had quite a few ups and downs. But I'm ready to make it my mission to stick to it this time.
My name is Ashley, I'm 33, and I currently weigh 206. At the beginning of the year I weighed 213, so it's slow going, but it's going.
I got married 12 yrs ago, and I weighed 130. I quickly put on about 89 lbs, because I was eating the same portion sizes as my husband who is a full foot taller than me. I'm 5'4" and he's 6'4". (It took about a year and a half sad to say)
We joined Weight Watchers and I took off 50 lbs. Then I got pregnant with my daughter, and gained another 30.
I hovered around 195 until I got pregnant with my son. And had I not been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes w/his pregnancy I'm sure I would have gained the same. Instead I actually gave birth at 192 lbs. Less than when I got pregnant due to the GD diet.
But then having felt "deprived" of all sweets, and being allowed to eat them again right after the birth, I went ahead and indulged. And a little too much.
My son just turned 17 months old, and it's time.
So far, I've been walking on our treadmill here at home a half hour a day, and following the basic parimeters of the GD diet I was on. Mostly protein, and few carbs, eating six small meals a day. We started in Jan. I got sick and then took a few weeks off, but started back up again this month on the
6th.
It's silly, but we've (my husband is doing it with me) started tracking our exercise progress by giving ourselves gold and silver stars on our calendar on the days we exercise. But I think it helps to see the visual. And so far I have 14 stars for the month.
I really want to make it happen this time!
